Grade: one Class: 2, 3 & 4
Words: ‘father’, ‘mother’, ‘sister’, ‘brother’, ‘baby’, ‘me’, ‘a father’, ‘a mother’, ‘a sister’, ‘ a brother’, ‘ a baby’, ‘grandfather’, ‘grandmother’, ‘parents’, ‘family’, ‘cousin’, ‘uncle’, ‘aunt’
Sentences: “How many ….do you have?”, “I have ….”, “This is my ….”, “That is my …”, “His/Her name is …”, “what is his/her name?”, “How old is …..?”, “He/she is …years old.”,
Games or Songs:
Song- ‘Good morning to you’ with audio
Game- ‘Guessing game’: To have 2 family members on the blackboard with a piece of paper over the top of each one so the students can not see what it is. Teacher to write on the blackboard some elicit sentences ie ‘he is my father’, ‘she is my mother’, ‘he is my brother’, ‘she is my sister’, ‘that is her …..’, that is his…’, ‘they are her ….’, ‘they are his …’, ‘that is your…’. The students need to guess who is behind the curtain. Play boys versus girls. Take it in turns with girls answering, then let boys answer. With every wrong guess, it drops by a point. Start with 20 points. See who the fast ones are.
