Lesson plan 17
Lesson Date: 14th Oct and 15th Oct Name of the teacher: Andrew
Grade: one Class: 2, 3 & 4
Words: ‘father’, ‘mother’, ‘sister’, ‘brother’, ‘baby’, ‘me’, ‘a father’, ‘a mother’, ‘a sister’, ‘ a brother’, ‘ a baby’, ‘grandfather’, ‘grandmother’, ‘parents’, ‘family’
Sentences: “He/She is …..”, “Who is She/He?”, “How old are you?”, “I am …..years old.”
Games or Songs:
Song- ‘My Family Song’ from the backpack text book using audio equipment (sound and picture)
Activity- placing the mother and brother stickers from the back of the backpack text book where they belong on page 15.
Game 1- It is a trust game. ‘trust your classmate’: I will hand each student a toothpick. Then I will ask them to place the tip of one end between their closed lips. The aim for them is too pass the lifesaver (candy with a hole in it) around the class without using their hands, just using the toothpick. This game is just to break things up, a bit of fun and introduce trust.
Game 2- To play a family tree style game like pin a tail on the donkey. I will have 10 flashcards of the family members in a pile, a couple metres from the blackboard. I will have boys versus girls. Give each boy and girl a number, then I will call out that number, they need to rush to the board and place the flashcards in the right spot. (On the blackboard, I will have boxes with magnets to play the flashcards). The first one to place in the correct order will get the point for the team.
