November 3rd 2009 12:07
Lesson plan 7

Lesson Date: 14th to 18th September Name of the teacher: Andrew
Grade: one Class: 2, 3 & 4
Words: “colour(s)”, “pink”, “black”, “brown”, “purple”, “grey”, “red”, “green”, “blue”, “yellow”, “orange”, “stop!”, The Alphabet and its sounds
Sentences: “What colour is it?”, “It is…”, “what’s this?”
Games or Songs:
Song: to start of with the ‘alphabet song’
Game 1: get the students to sit around in a circle on their seats, and they must pass around a ball until I say “stop”. Then that student with the ball must pick up a card from the middle which are ‘colour’ or ‘stationery’ words learnt this week and then they must say a sentence about that card ie “this is a book”

Game 2- I was going to watch the first half of the 35 minute kids show ‘Hi 5 Wonderful Journey’ but since I am unable to play DVDs in the classrooms due to computer malfunctions I played an extra two games. The second one being is to drill 4 classroom objects to the class and then Hold one close to your chest and point to it and say “what is it?” with out showing the students what it is, it is a guessing game. Then move on to another four objects. Do this twice.

Game 3- Spelling Bee: Boys versus girls. To show the one boy and one girl the word/ flash card briefly for a couple of seconds and then hid it. They needed to write and spell the word. To do with ‘pen’, ‘desk’, ‘book’, ‘chair’, ‘paper’ first.
