Grade: one Class: 2, 3 & 4
Words: ‘father’, ‘mother’, ‘sister’, ‘brother’, ‘baby’, ‘me’, ‘a father’, ‘a mother’, ‘a sister’, ‘ a brother’, ‘ a baby’, ‘grandfather’, ‘grandmother’, ‘parents’, ‘family’, ‘my’, ‘your’, ‘his’, ‘her’,
Sentences: “He/She is …..”, “Who is She/He?”, “How many (brothers/ sisters)..?”, to answer how many brothers or sisters with just the number, “her …(family)”, “his ..(family)”, “my …(family)’, “your ..(family)”, “whose ….(family)?”
Games or Songs:
Song- ‘My Family Song’ from the backpack text book using audio equipment (sound and picture)
Activity- Dictation, Drawing and sought of colouring: Hand the students a piece of paper. Tell the student as well as show on blackboard to divide the paper into four square. Then to write a name of a family member in each square ie mother, father, sister and me. Get the student to draw one face, but to only draw a quarter of each of their family members. This is a competition, the winner will get something small.
