Lesson Date: 14th to 18th September Name of the teacher: Andrew
Grade: one Class: 2, 3 & 4
Words: “colour(s)”, “pink”, “black”, “brown”, “purple”, “grey”, “red”, “green”, “blue”, “yellow”, “orange”,
Sentences: “What colour is it?”, “It is…”, “what’s this?”
Games or Songs:
Movie: I had planned to show the second half of the 35 minute kids show ‘Hi 5 Wonderful Journey’ but needed to change.
Song- ‘Alphabet song’
Activity- To ask each student to come up and write a letter on the blackboard and also do the shape of the letter with your body. Also, say how the letter is pronunciated.
Game 1- Boys versus girls: Put flashcards up on the blackboard. To mime each object and let the students understand what you are trying to say without talking. If a student knew what I was trying to say, they had to race to the front of the class pick up the fly swat and swat the flashcard and say “This is a ….”
Game 2- Boys versus girls if possible: Have equal teams face each other sitting in two lines. Give each a student a number. At this time you still have the flashcards in position on the blackboard. Now, after you explain the rules say a number and an object. Those two kids with that number have to race each other to the fly swat, and then also swat the flashcard and say “this is a …”
