Oh Orble and Orblites how I have missed you. I can't believe that the year has passed so quickly. As I look back on the past year I think about all that has happened and how much has happened and of all the things still to happen.
I suppose the most important thing that happened was that Callum started school. Wow what a roller-coaster of a ride that has been. Thankfully it seems that Callum loves school, he asks to go on Saturdays and Sundays plus he comes home from school and asks to do his homework. What more could you want? He is doing very well in his subjects and it's amazing to see how quickly he is learning stuff and how well he is learning it. He has been learning his alphabet but phonetically and how to read and write. Everywhere he goes you'll see him "air drawing" the letters (or numbers) that he sees out and about. It's very cute to see and makes me very proud how he is willing to learn and put what he has learned into action. It's funny to think that only a few months ago he didn't want to learn to read and write because he was worried that once he knew how to that I wouldn't want to read to him any more especially at bedtime. If only he had told me this ages ago I could have told him that I will always read to him, it's something I've done since he is a baby and something I will love doing as long as I can. He understands now though and it's like the floodgates have opened up to his wanting to learn everything.
Socially I think he's doing ok too. Callum's an only child (which worries me for other reasons but I won't talk about that here now) but he wants to befriend everyone he meets. He's a friendly child and a very very very big hit with the girls (and women! LOL). His best friend at school is Katie. The both started half days a few weeks later than the other children because they are what is classed as "summer babies" and so they did just over 2 weeks of half days and became firm friends. One of the teachers thought that they had been friends for years because of how well they get on and how close they are. Funnily enough they are complete opposites but it works well, Callum brings Katie out of her shell and I think in a little way Katie is calming down that wild side of Callum. As for other children I think there is maybe a little problem with some of the other boys not playing nicely with Callum and him trying to be accepted by them so doing things to show off. He has told Daz and I a little while ago that some of the boys don't want to be friends with him because they have trouble understanding what he says which breaks my heart and makes me angry as in the summer when he had an assessment with a therapist for his speech she said he was fine but seemed more interested in his behaviour and how active he is than his speech. You can bet if he does end up needing speech therapy (which he has recently been re-assessed for) that I will be putting in a formal complaint about this other woman. Anyway enough about that, Christmas, New Year... no bitching. LOL. Getting back, all in all I think that Callum is doing fantastic at school.
So how are things with Mr and Mrs White? I think they aren't doing too badly. We've certainly had a few up and downs this year, what with me realising that I may well have been suffering a little bit from depression to Daz being ill with his feet and legs etc (maybe suspected gout). Thankfully we both seem on the mend now though. It's been tough and I think only through the fact that Daz and I do have such a strong relationship have we managed to come through it all. This year is going to be a good one for us hopefully though. Firstly we're moving home! Yep you read that right The White House is moving location. We've found a nice 3 bedroom house that we like and we move into at that end of January. So who bought the flat? My Dad and his business partner! My Dad realised what a good investment the flat would be talked to his business partner and then to me and Daz. It makes things a lot easier hopefully, especially with the whole switching over homes etc. The three of us are excited as hell about this, it's a new chapter in our life and hopefully the beginning of a good year too. There's a lot to be done and for a while I may have to do a 30 minute bus commute with Callum to school but it's worth it. Once we're in and settled I'll be able to take some photos and tell you all about it.
So I can't think of anything more to say, things have been busy but in a good way at times.
If anyone wants to have a look I've put a link at the top (I think that is where it appears) linking to my flickr photos so you can see a few recent shots of Callum etc.
I hope that all my friends I made here are well and I promise as soon as I can to get over to your blogs and read up on your lifes, views, opinions. works of art.
A very Happy New Year to you all.
Take Care.
Love
Sarah. xxx

Long time no 'see'!! You sound like your year has had more ups and downs than mine has (and that's saying something!!) My little boy starts school later this month so I can definitely understand where you are coming from. I hope he makes a good friend like Callum has.
2008 is shaping up to be a good year, I reckon (I can feel it in my bones!) so I really wish you all the best in your new home and hope all your dreams and aspirations come true.
All the best and lots of love to you and your gorgeous family for the new year.
Take care,
A.xx

It really was a delight to hear from you, I feel sure you'll be much better in a house. It may even calm Callum down.
He sounds great, always remember it is much worse for the first and in your case the 'only', with the second Mum doesn't worry nearly so much if at all, you'll find Callum is very good at solving most of his own problems so many of which are resolved with a good night's sleep. I'd love to come and visit you all in your own backyard. I'm thrilled for you, may you join us more often soon. Everything sounds very exciting, if only I had my life to live over, but life does not work like that.
But do listen to wise counsel around you, I never did, but than again that wise counsel was invariably, you must do it our way. i wanted to do it my way.
Lots of love to everyone and a bit squeeze and hug for Callum, before he give up all that sort of stuff. Nice name his little friend has.

It has been a long time.
I really hope 2008 is a brilliant year for you.
Mr M suffers from gout...it's not pleasant.
I hope everything works out for Callum and his speech. My youngest Christian goes to speech therapy. Last year he had surgery because he was tongue tied but he still falls into his old habits of communicating. Pointing, grunting, taking my hand but not actually asking , not actually using his words.
Hope the move isn't too stressful either.
Love & stuff
