Going Crazy! - by MaryJane Mushoe

Economic stimulus my a**!

May 17th 2008 22:10
Does anyone really believe that a lousy $300 is going to really boost this economy. No one is going to go out and purchase $300 worth of crap, hell, they need that just to fill their tanks for two weeks of commuting to work an average of 22 miles each way.

I suggest a boycott to driving itself not just to gasoline prices and oil hikes, but to driving in general. Our cars are nothing more than conveniences. We can have just as much fun at home with our kids or going to the local park (walking of course) as we can if we drive somewhere else. We need to show the oil companies and their leaders, you know who, the primary two evils of our country, that we don't need anything from them to survive. They think we are stupid and rely on them. We are a fighting country not a dependent country. But, we are running around like sheep being herded to fill up our gas tank. The hell with that! Ladies and gentlemen take your kids for a walk, ride your bikes together or get out the bat and ball and play in your yards. We don't need anyone dictating how we will live our lives.

$4 for a gallon of gas. Are they crazy?! And you know what? We all fall for it like a flock of sheep following behind. Would you follow behind everyone else to the slaughter house? I know I wouldn't. You know we all fell for their schemes when they told us after the devistating hurricane to New Orleans that Hurricane Katrina knocked out an oil refinery and that's why these gas prices BEGAN to rise in the first place. Doesn't anyone even realize that the fuel that we use takes many months to get from a refinery to an actual gas station? That refinery had nothing to do with anything. That was propaganda and we all fell for it. The people who suffered the most, the victims who lived in Louisiana and Mississippi, and there are still so many who are still dislocated.

Which brings me to another subject. I am a firm believer in democracy for all. Hell if we didn't have the first amendment I wouldn't be able to write whatever I want right here. But, we went to Iraq, we fought the war, we got AND Saddam, NOW WHAT? We can't solve the problems of the world. Our leaders are so arrogant that they actually believe that they can solve all of the problems of the world. I don't want anyone to live in terror, but, if our job is done and they don't want us there, WHY THE HELL ARE WE STILL THERE? To make a point? How many more lives need to be lost? How many more military families need to be destroyed due to the mental and physical illnesses? God forbid that we look like we bailed out or gave up.

Look we all know the real reason we are still at war. Georgie has to clean up the mess that daddy couldn't finish. We used to be united, unafraid to say what we felt and stand up for what we believe in. Now, we just follow the other sheep to the slaughter house. Well I'm going to start with me, which is all I can control, myself. I encourage all of you to get out of the slaughter house line and stand up for what YOU believe in, your country, our freedom. Having these so-called leaders run our country without the popular vote of the people has taken away our voices, our freedom, and if we're not careful our individuality.

Now I have many theories which involve conspiracy with the government and if I choose to write about them I'll have the FBI knocking on my door in 10 minutes. But, remember people, these leaders of ours are just like and were once like you and me. They all put on their pants the same way. We need to regain control of our country and live the way we were brought up to live.

When I graduated from high school in 1989 gas was $1 per gallon and my parents had a hard time paying for college for me. Now with gas at $4 per gallon I have to seriously consider whether or not I can even afford college for my son in 2 years. Is that what we've been reduced to? Putting gasoline in the tanks of our cars before providing higher education for our children? I certainly hope not.

Be strong. Use the fuel of your body. Ride a bike. Take a walk. Go boating. Have fun with your families. We are each only put on this earth for a very short time. And I feel that each person is on this planet for a reason. He or she has their own individual goals and accomplishments that are given to them, tasks that have to be completed in order to feel complete. So do what completes you!!!

Sleep? Who sleeps?

May 16th 2008 18:20
I get a kick out of parents who say things like, "He doesn't even let me sleep", or "I can't wait until she gets older so I can sleep again". WHAT?!?! Are they kidding. Guess what? You're not going to sleep any time soon. Your kids are completely dependent on you. There will be no sleep until their 30. You'll only worry about them more as you get older.

Alone time? Forget it! Ask any parent the last time they had that. My oldest is 16 and my youngest is 5. I can't even tell you the last time I took a shower or went to the bathroom by myself. I think it was before my first was born 16 years ago and it will probably not end for another 16 years, so, I'm going to be 52 the next time I can take a shower alone. Yayy, something to look forward to!!

If you thought that being a parent to a newborn was tough with all the late nights, frequent diaper changes, constant nursing, walks to help them fall asleep, and crying---just wait until that little bundle of joy is a teenager. Yes they are more fun and there is no more baby talk, but, that's when it turns to back talk. Not to mention the constant worrying about what they're doing, where they are and who they're with. At least when they're nursing you know exactly where they are.

More fun is definitely to come no matter how old your child or children are. And I promise, as you become a more seasoned diaper changer it does get easier. Remember keep smiling and soon you won't even smell like spit up any more!

Parents Gone Wild

May 16th 2008 17:56
Well there are sometimes that we as parents don't always make the right choices and being full time parents can cloud our judgement. Well more of our memory.

Being a busy parent can be quite challenging. Whether you're a new mom, dad, caregiver, big brother or sister, we can have fun here with the trials of parenting.
