God's Gentle Reminder

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
-John 1:3 (New International Version)
This morning as I prepared to spend some one on one time with God I began to hear the sound of crickets chirping outside my window. Most days I just ignore them or don't appreciate their morning song, but today something made me stop and listen.
Could God have a message for me in the chirping of the crickets, I wondered? Maybe. He has used the gentle touch of a breeze and the warm encouragement of the sunshine to encourage me before. Why not the chirping of the crickets?
As I listened a bit more intently I could tell that there were several crickets chirping. Suddenly a few of them stopped and the noise of the chirping grew dramatically more faint. God used that to remind me about how we as God's children are to work together in unity. The Bible talks about that in I Corinthians chapter 12. It says that God created us all to work together, just like the crickets did to make their morning song.
