Beyonce Concert Melbourne

September 30th 2009 23:02
My friend and I were literally bursting with exciting for the Beyonce concert in Melbourne, Wednesday 16th September. We went to the second show and had standing tickets. We managed to get pretty close to the front to one side of the stage. Beyonce worked that stage left and right, and every time she came over our side with her beautiful long lean legs and amazing outfits I just about cried.
Beyonce sparkling in gold!
After the concert we couldn't stop saying how amazing she was, of course for her talent, but also for her beauty, poise and demeanour. She loved the crowd, and you felt that from how she responded and performed - she clearly loves what she does! And so do I.

Last night, I got to dance my feet off, and wow did I have fun!

It was Saturday night, 23rd August at Mercat on Queen Street in Melbourne. There is nothing like a good Drum and bass gig to get you moving. It's the fast constant rhythms and smooth rolling basslines that I like the most. DJ Klute controlled the decks from 1-3am upstairs at Mercat. MC LowQui was a treat to have on the mic, raising energy levels further with his complimentary skills on the mic. I couldn't stop dancing.

Any movement you choose will always suit Drum n Bass because it doesn't matter how you dance, just that you move! Hey, that could be a great way to make electricity someday, while having a good time! Imagine...huge dance halls filled with people, generating electricity from dancing to drum and bass.

Downstairs, Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek performing as a duo under the name Aftrica Hitech, were the focus of the night from 2am-4am. Shortly after I entered the room I was half skanking and half moon walking slowly - raising alternate knees and dipping my head to the booming bass lolling through the sound system. The atmosphere was more laid back and soulful, and Steve Spacek provided smooth vocals to parts of the music where he felt would further amplify the vibe. My only wish is that he sang more often, but the beats grew more and more eclectic and it is no wonder because he probably had to work hard to digest what Pritchard served up like the rest of us. Yet, what was served was flavoursome!

Otherwise known as Tom Withers, DJ Klute is from London, and has been on the electronic music scene since the early 1990's. He's had numerous releases on Hospital Records compilations, and in 2001 established the label Commercial Suicide.
