Getting Married ...Is it just about the Bride?

Getting married can be one of the most exciting times in your life. Unfortunately the weeks leading up to the wedding can also be the most stressful. Why do we want the big wedding day? I suppose it is your 15 minutes of fame. For girls especially they get to dress up like a princess for a day, while everybody admires their dress and their hair, but I think it is just as important for men, I think they may want the big day as well.
I am organising my second wedding now. After the first one where there was terrible family politics I really wanted to run off to Las Vegas and get married by Elvis this time. Which by the way, my friend did and it was one of the funniest weddings I have been to.
My fiancé however has never been married before so he wanted to do it properly in front of his family and friends. So this wedding is definitely about the groom as well as the bride.
I really did not want to organise a wedding but he promised he would do a lot of the organising. It turned out what he meant was he would make a phone call after I have decided what needs to be done who needs to be called, looked up the phone numbers and told him what to say.
Perhaps it is the case that even though men want a nice wedding day with their friends and family around they have no idea what needs to be done in terms of a wedding or maybe they are too scared to make the wrong decision in case they spoil it for their beloved.

He can be involved with the stuff he does want to give input about; maybe booking the entertainment if you're having any, or locating and picking up extra chairs, tables, etc., or who sits with whom at the reception.
You seem like a very nice person; it's so refreshing to hear a bride say that she wants her groom to have a wonderful memory of their wedding day instead of the usual spoiled-child whine of "This is my day!" Uh, no. It's not. The day belongs to the bride, the groom, the parents of both, and the family and friends of both.
Many happy years for the both of you! With your consideration of your fiance, and his for you, I don't doubt for a minute that you'll have them.
