The article marketing test conclusions

January 19th 2008 20:26
I am nearing the end of the ninety-day article-marketing test, it has been several days since my last update. The upside is the site has received six hundred and thirty three visitors. The downside is the income from the sites ppc has dropped to about twenty-five percent of original.

The site has produced seven e-book sales at twenty-one dollars, but the earnings per click has dropped my expectations greatly. The click price has reduced to a mere twelve cent per unit average, this fact has lowered my expectations on this acne skin care mini-site's monthly revenue generating abilities.

The income for the last thirty days on this site is thirty-six dollars and seventy-two cents. I still consider the article marketing traffic method successful, although the niche may be too crowded to rank quickly as I do not plan an extensive linking campaign at this time.

My next test will be using Web 2.0 techniques as a comparison to article directory promotions, hopefully it will prove useful.

The results are looking very promising; Acne skin care 15-Day update!

The numbers are looking good, several of the articles have been picked up by ezines and the resource box links appear to be doing quite well. The total traffic for the last 10 days, coming from the resource box, identified by landing page is 261 visitors, several robots have also found the site, identified by cpanel traffic stats. Four of the articles were distributed to several directories via a private submitter (over 100 directories). I still have six more articles to submit in the next 15 days. I will update and re-write the articles once more for next month.

Here are the sites monetary facts for the last 15 days; 4 ebooks have been sold generating $12, the ppc earnings for the last 15 days have increased by $12.92 (doubled in 15 days!).

I know that at least a few of the readers have identified the potential of this strategy by picking up their own copy of the HyperVRE site generating software(it's free). If you do not have your own rewriting software and are interested in an free automated article spinning to reduce duplicate content visit jetspinner for a free version.

Is article marketing still effective or has Web 2.0 changed the face of article marketing forever?

I have been conducting a little research on article directory promotions that might prove useful. I set up a quick site on the topic of acne skin care, check it out let me know what you think. The site took about 20 minutes to make using HyperVRE. I composed 10 unique articles, all related to the site topic and posted them in several directories over the course of 30 days. At the time of this writing the site has gotten 174 visits all from the article resource box, as this is the only form of promotion for the site. The site has sold 4 e-books, producing $12. The adsense for the site is doing fairly well for the 1st month 13 clicks for a total of $5.96, I expect these figure to improve as the site builds traffic. While the figures are not that impressive at first glance, the results are encouraging. This site will now generate revenue on autopilot with an expected income of a hundred dollars a month in 90 days or so. The DHTML links have yet to produce affiliate sales. I don't expect real results from this form of advertising. I am not planning any PPC or other paid advertising for this site, only free traffic sources at this time. I have re-written the same 10 articles to avoid duplicate content penalties, which will be submitted over the next 30 days. I will post a follow up as necessary

Generating Closely Focused Traffic

December 9th 2007 23:11
Writing and submitting articles that provide useful tips and guides to people searching for information is an excellent way to generate targeted traffic. When people find your article interesting there is a good chance of them following the links back to your site to find the articles origin.

Social networking is also an excellent way to generate free targeted-traffic. A popular blog or forum is a good place to start, they are easy to find and in most cases free to join. The topics of these sites tend to be very explicit, thus generating closely focused traffic.

Generating targeted traffic to your web sites is not as hard as you may think it is. One of the fastest, most productive and easiest ways to get traffic to your site is the use of article submissions to popular article directories.

Writing and submitting articles to article directories is also an excellent way to pre-qualify traffic. Submitted Articles will help build your credibility as an author, you will generally be viewed as an authority on your chosen topic.

Persuasive Writing Process

September 22nd 2007 19:23
Persuasive Writing Process: Carefully applying a useful metaphor is a good way to express a thought, providing almost instant acceptance and credibility to your idea. A metaphor is one of the most persuasive tools supplied by the English language, and as a writer, we should apply this tool frequently. If you are having trouble creating a good metaphor, here is a simple suggestion. Write down some attributes related to the subject you are presenting. Then, start listing things with similar attributes. When you find something with quite a bit in common, carefully avoiding things with too much in common, you have found your metaphor.

on Generating Closely Focused Traffic

This blog is getting dry in my opinion, thus I am not posting as often as I should. While I don’t discuss movies, music or sports I do discuss matters that concern my personal interests.

The lack of comments tends to make me believe I am writing for myself, thus only of value for optimization. My focus is turned toward a different project at this time, posts are a excerpts of something recently written.

on Starting a Freelance Writing Career

September 8th 2007 00:22
Tracy,
Thanks for the insight, I believe this post points to an inside page of the site unseen as of this post (not live until just prior to post). The point of the post is simple; if you're going to write it is necessary to take action, running any business requires you to actually work! A freelance writing career is certainly far from an exception, if you want to be a freelance writer you have to find clients and write. Meet your deadlines and requirements, and you will have a satisfied client, (your own repeat customers).

As for cost, as far as I can tell every business require capital to operate. I don’t promote any particular business programs for writers, I don’t believe one is necessary. I try not to promote any individual membership sites, although if necessity forced me to choose one, I would select Guru for several reasons. I suggest starting with Craigslist... it is free!

on My thoughts on Inviting Aromas

I have to admit when I’m wrong, my teenage daughter sprayed
a scented spray and it smelled nice, the duration wasn’t long but it did
smell similar to vanilla cookies. A nice scented candle would have been
better but the spray was pretty good. Even better would have been
vanilla sugar cookies baking in the oven!
I love highly scented candles
