Got me one of those Battlestar Galactica Toasters from NBC and the Sci-fi channel and in the worlds of one Larry David... it's "pretty.... pretty.... pretty good". It actually does make toast with a cylon on it, but I was more interested in it as a geeky decorative item than an actual toaster so it just sits looking all shiny and pretty.
One thing on note, there are quite a few press shots of the BSG toaster floating around the interweb (like the one used here) and it looks a sort of brushed gray, well the actual toaster has like a chrome finish, so it's very shiny and mirror like.
Oh and I'll be posting less, but of a more personal nature, this of this blog now like twitter, but a twitter someone only uses to put important (to me) stuff of a geeky nature on, as opposed to every boring geeky detail all the other geek sites are also posting!! I'm an individual dammit... not a cylon!!!!! Ahem.
That's become my new Orble motto 'Less Posts Means Less Crap". You don't need me posting every God forsaken gaming news story that every other gaming site on Earth is posting. What you really want are weird, quirky video gaming news stories or stories with a female edge to them, that way they're few and far between (hopefully).
Anyway that was my thought and thus why I haven't posted much lately, well that and I've been playing games for review, which takes up tooooo much time (there's the playing, then the writing, then the playing and the re-writing!). On that note though I can tell you not to bother with Guitar Hero Aerosmith, which the publisher never sent out for review and now I know why... I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!! I know like 3 of the songs on the game, that's it, all the rest are some freaky Aerosmith songs from decades gone by, that only hardcore Aerosmith fans are going to enjoy.
Short and sweet Guitar Hero Aerosmith review huh, you see I'm always thinking of you ;o)
Caprica is confuzzling me! As was previously revealed the Daniel Graystone character was going to create a robotic version of his dead daughter. Thing is the daughter looks human in the trailer. That being the case does it not fly in the face of the history Battlestar Galactica shows?
In BSG the cylons were robotic centurions who rebelled thus causing the first cylon war. After the war - during the armistice - the cylons (now sentient) started biotechnological experiments on humans and the 12 models of cylon were crafted. However Caprica seems to suggest one Doctor (Graystone) in his grief develops the first cylon... Zoe-R ...CONFUSED!
Check out the trailer HERE.

Fat Princess, the name itself has stirred up a few feminist gamers, that's without the overall premise. As a female gamer I can see both sides here, the feminist gamers and the average Joe gamer who couldn't give a crap about the overarching implications something like this has on hearts and minds.
On the one hand you've got the premise of the obese and utterly useless female character, which is in itself annoying and yeah feminists, you go girls because it is frakkin annoying that time after time female in game characterizations are put in the position of useless piece of crap whilst the 'men' go around trying to rescue your useless - and in this case - fat ass

Watchmen trailer is live people and I have to say it looks better than I thought it was going to look. The geeks over at io9 put up the trailer and it's a nice big size so you can check out the detailing. See what you think and let me know, for my money it's better than I thought it was going ot be.
If you're not sure what Watchmen is - consider your geek pass revoked! - it's a popular graphic novel / comic series by Allan Moore and DC comics, so year, it's another Hollywood bastardization of a comic book series, but hey, it looks pretty good so...

Pikmin Wii, well that's what I'm assuming. Oddly enough I was discussing this prospect just last week and this week at E3 Shigeru Miyamoto said the wonderful words "We're making Pikmin" at the E3 2008 Nintendo Developer Roundtable. Not shocking, since it was a given, but good to hear it officially at any rate.
If you missed Pikmin when it appeared on the GameCube, you're in for a treat. My suggestion would be to go get it on the GameCube anyway if you're got a Wii and relive it. I speaking of the Wii I should oint out Shiggy never said it was for the Wii, but that's probably a given too

MySims was pretty cool on the Wii and DS. I enjoyed messing about with what was marketed as pretty much a kids title. Looks like that marketing idea hasn't changed for MySims on PC with the press release saying things like "Safely chat, interact and play games like Tag and Hide-and-Seek with your online buddies. Construct buildings and create objects to use cooperatively with up to seven friends that are online with you". Tag and Hide-and-Seek aside, MySims for PC is actually looking pretty cool.
MySims, made for the PC, opens up the world of MySims for you to explore, play and share with up to seven other friends that are online with you, said Rod Humble, Head of Studio for The Sims Label. For the first time, you can express the creativity of MySims with others in a collaborative way, as you create and live in a shared town with your friends online. With MySims, made for the PC, its a whole new world of interaction with personalised creations, buildings and towns to share, along with furniture and other tailored creations that you and your friends can trade. Players who enjoyed MySims on the Wii and Nintendo DS will view this as a great way to connect with friends in an online PC game and those new to MySims will find this a fresh and exciting game

It's been a sad week in the geek world. Two of geekdoms greats have gone to the great geek hall in the sky. Firstly there's Don S Davis, better known as General George Hammond in Stargate, or for X-Files fans.. Scully's dad. He died on June 29.
Next on the geek death list is Michael Turner, a young guy of only 37 who died June 27 after a long fight with cancer. Turner is most famed for creating female comic book heroes Fathom and Witchblade. He also created ASPEN Comics

I wouldn't call this a review as such, because quite frankly I think this game can be summed up in two words, those being: Beautiful / Boring. Yes I am apparently the only gamer on the planet not feeling the Metal Gear Solid 4 love. I personally think it is indeed a stunning graphical feat of genius in parts, but is mowed down in a hail of unwanted - and extremely long - cut-scenes and hard drive installs.
I realize this goes against the grain for most, I realize it's garnering reviews of ten out of ten all over the place. Me... I don't see it, I think it's probably an 8 at best and for me that's pushing it. I also realize some reviewers feel having a 'name' attached - in this case Hideo Kojima - automatically ups the review score, I beg to differ. This is the trap that movie goers fall into when they say silly things like "Oooh 'The Happening' is by M Night Shambolicham, it must be a good movie if he made it"... no! Silly people

If you liked the Frank Miller big screen take of Sin City, then chances are the new Miller epic 'The Spirit' is already on your radar screen (I was going to say DRADIS, but meh). The Spirit features a plethora of gorgeous lady characters, including two played by Eva Mendez and Scarlett Johansson. If you like the sound of that, you might want to check out the sound of them and you can thanks to Yahoo.
You can head over to THIS SITE and check out Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson, Jaime King and Sarah Paulson as they croon their way into your heart via a little soundbite from each of their respective characters. My favorite is Eva Mendez, because she just sounds so darn seductive.
