52 mile trip today

July 31st 2007 01:31
What started out as a 10 mile trip that evolved into a much longer trip that took 3 1/2 hours total. It was quite hot and I had to keep moving to generate a breeze that would keep me cool. As long as there was shade, the air was cool. on the uphill climbs, it was very hot. Later in the year, I am planning a 91 mile trip, hopefully with a lighter bike which needs tires now.

July 23rd--

Today, I made a 35 mile trip and the bike worked . The gears slipped a few times and I stopped by the shop for a fine adjustment after which it worked perfectly for the remaining 9 miles. I will make another trip later this week.

Blaming God

July 24th 2007 12:34
It would seem to me that people would have enough sense to know that all the problems in the world are human caused. But, in spite of this fact, every time something happens that is beyond the scope of human understanding,God is blamed. It was man that made the first mistake after God created the world. He was given a choice to love God or rebel against him. In God's economy, there are no such things as robots. God could have created beings that obeyed him at the push of a button or the tug on a string. But this is not reality when it comes to true love. Anyone could create a robot. A simple puppet could be classed as a primitive robot since it only moves as the person that is controlling it pulls the strings. So, stop asking why God. He is not obligated to answer you and when he does answer, many times the person to whom the answer applies isn't satisfied. So when things go wrong, just bear with it and make the best of things. God will give you the grace to get through.

Bike Repaired

July 19th 2007 18:31
I just had my bike repaired. The shift cables had to be replaced and it cost only $22.00 I hope to get a lot of miles out of them. Before the repair job, I was stuck in the lowest gear and that was annoying since I had to pedal very fast to get up any speed. Now, it will be a breeze.

If you or big wheel you know is delirious in collecting, Ebay best-selling is smile on* you need to get familiar with! Ebay is a huge Internet site that allows people to sell or buy at auction almost anything you can think of. There are very few restrictions on what you can buy or sell. Are you fond of antique toasters? Bicycles? Staying rhinestone jewelry? Square* toys? Elvis memorabilia? Whatever you are collecting, Ebay will probably have what you want.

Jesus Wins

July 11th 2007 13:47
with all the special interest groups around, you would think that the church would just give up and let the secularists take over. But, as I read the bible, I discovered that in the end, Jesus wins hands down. So, why don't the secularists just give up and lay down their arms and submit? Like the Freedom From Religion Foundation My message to you and the members of your organization is that you will not stop us from getting the gospel message out to the world. Hitler didn't stop it, Stalin didn't stop it,Herod didn't stop it,Saddam didn't stop it,Madilyn Murray O'Hair didn't stop it,Communist Red China is not stopping it, What makes you think you will? We have the American Center for Law and Justice fighting for our rights to freely express our faith in the public square. So I am not worried about your lies. So all you brothers and sisters out there. Speak out and do not fear the lawsuits. All these lawsuits do is attempt to intimidate people into bowing their knees to these people. Write your government officials and let them know the truth about these organizations and how they preach a false message that promises it's followers freedom but results in bringing others into bondage. As far as I am concerned, there is no problem with prayer and bible reading in school. It never did me any harm. And, there is no problem with the ten commandments being displayed in public. I stand with Judge Moore on this issue. In the early days of public schools, the McGuffy readers had lessons centered around excerpts from the bible and it never harmed anyone. I am just sick and tired of the secularists trying to create a "Soviet America" Just pack your bags and go to Moscow singing "Back in the USSR" You don't know how lucky you are!! FREEDOM OF RELIGION not FREEDOM FROM RELIGION Quit trying to make us a communist nation. If you do not understand this, just read about the conditions of living under Stalin,Lennin, and Kruchev(who said as he pounded the podium "we will bury you") Read what they said about Christianity. Also see Really Long Link

2Pe 2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage

on Looking for the ram in the bush

That was a good post. Just keep on believing and God will work all things to the good of them who love God and are the called according to his purpose. Also remember Romans 11:29. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.(or in modern words irrevocable) I hope this encourages you. God bless you and have a nice day in the Lord.

on The Lost Son

Dear David,

I have finished out the story. It is a lesson in forgiveness and grace. God is willing to forgive rather than condemn. By the way, I had asked in a previous comment as to whether you are an agnostic, atheist or humanist. Just want to know where you are coming from. Thanks for looking. Have a good day.

on DEALING WITH BULLYING

June 16th 2007 19:45
I too was a victim of bullying. Its been almost 40 years since I graduated. All I did was get pushed in the halls and simply told the bully that I would meet outside and when I got outside the door, I punched him in anger. After that fortuneately he was a friend from that point on. I experienced one other incident in which I almost killed the other person. This started out with 2 other students instigating the fight between me and the other guy. That was the last time anything happened for the balance of my high school career. I hate it when someone forces you to resort to violence to solve differences between yourself and the other person. I still am affected by this by being overly cautious when a group of sinister looking people are walking toward me I find myself impulsively crossing over to the other side of the street to avoid any possible confrontation.
