Funky Dance Moves - by AVG

Glides

September 19th 2006 07:56
I haven't written a post on this blog for awhile and this is so I can give you time to practise the moves demonstrated on my previous posts. It is all very easy to do arm waves and body waves but you also want to be able move and not stand in one spot when you dance. One way of doing this is through the use of glides.

Note: I have added a link so you can see a visual demonstration if the instructions are too difficult to follow

BODY WAVE

September 12th 2006 12:20
Check out my previous posts. I have just added a link that you can use to see a demonstration of wrist popping and arm waves.

Generally body waves are easier to do than arm waves becuase there are not as many confusing steps. You can also do many more moves with a body wave than just a straight forward arm wave. Here are the written instructions but feel free to use the link at the end of the post to see a visual demonstration. ENJOY

ARM WAVE

September 9th 2006 08:55
If you read my previous post you would have pretty much gathered on how to pop your body.

The next step i want to teach you is waving. With this step you can do body waves and arm waves. I use waving a lot when i dance because it really allows me to play around with my moves

First Step to Popping

September 7th 2006 04:16
For the people who are not sure what popping is, it is a funk/street dance style based on quickly contracting your muscles and relaxing them to create a jerk in the dancer's body. Hence, this is referred to as a pop. The aim of the pop is to do it to the beat of the song. This creates a sense of rhythm in your dancing.

It might sound a bit confusing however, once you master it, it looks rather amazing! Many people incorporate other forms of dancing to enhance the pop or even create and illusion with their body that just blows the audience away. Some forms are ticking, waving, gliding and strobing. As i continue with the posts these forms will become more familiar to you
