From Home Data Entry

July 26th 2009 21:19
From Home Data Entry is a site that offers free registration, and claims it will pay $10 for each assignment you complete.

I signed up for this one, and completed my first assignment. It was pretty simple, it just asked me to review a website (which was a site offering help finding paid surveys - at a price of $69 - though it was offering a 50% discount). I was asked to tell in a paragraph or two what the website offered, what I thought about it, and if I found any spelling or grammatical errors (my cup of tea!). I completed the form - listed the 8 errors I had found - and submitted.

YAY! I earned $10. BUT...

They only give you ONE assignment free. To continue on a "part-time" basis (1 assignment per day) they ask you to pay a $19.95 one time fee. If you'd rather work "full-time" (3 assignments per day) they ask for $49.95.

They do NOT allow you to work off the fee by completing assignments first.
They do NOT pay you until you accumulate $1000 in earnings. (That would be 100 assignments!)
They do NOT have a referral program, BUT - they are having a referral contest. (Clicking on the link above credits me with a referral if you sign up.)

I haven't yet decided if I want to do this one. I think I'll research it a bit more to see if they REALLY give you the promised number of assignments after you pay their fee. I don't really want to pay $50 - and the $20 option would take over three months to earn enough to get paid!

UPDATE: I stated earlier that they only give you one assignment unless you upgrade. The $19.95 upgrade is supposed to give you a "part-time" status with one assignment each day. I have not yet upgraded, and they HAVE sent me an assignment each day - so far. If this continues, I don't see much point in paying for the part-time upgrade. However, it will take over three months at this rate to earn the $1000 minimum payment. If they really do give three assignments per day for the $49.95 upgrade, it would still take over a month to get paid. I wouldn't mind the extra $1000 per month income though.

Ooo, stay away from that one. I earn money for paid posts on my websites and I don't pay them anything, they pay me. Sponsored Review

Any other way is a rip-off.

Carolyn,
That sounds interesting. Can you tell us more about that. I checked out the link, but I'd like to hear more from someone who actually participates in it.

Thanks,

DeAnne

Hi DeAnne,
I started writing a response here, but it was getting a bit too long, so I've done a post on it on one of my Orble blogs Light Within.
This has been my most fun way of earning money and it has been my most profitable. It sure beats the pennies I'm earning with AdSense.

I find the writing of the ads about lots of different things has stretched my creativity. I now know I can write about all kinds of weird and wonderful things I would never thought of writing about otherwise.

The best thing is I can work wearing daggy clothes and slippers, and in freezing winter where I am now, that is a good thing!

They are a scam and are being exposed as we speak. It's all about the credit card dispute...not the assignments.

You see once you request payout (which can be up to two months) you are informed your work needs to be reviewed and that could be 4-7 weeks. Since they know when you registered they stretch the time out past 90 days. This is the legal time you can dispute charges with your credit card company (including Paypal). Now they have you...and they simply send you and email informing you that you were in violation of their Terms of Service and no other correspondence will be conducted as they have disabled your account. GOTHCHA!

This isn't my first rodeo with this type of scam and I believe they have a close relationship with the realdataentry.net scam. You can read about it more in detail at Really Long Link
