Fresh Linen

While we were away in Torquay, I discovered this little gem in a lovely bookshop called Book Cellar, where you can browse the books, order a glass of wine and read the daily papers. Of course my experience in the shop didn't quite live up to this blissful scenario, as I had two 10 year old boys and a 3yr old in tow. In reality, it was, quickly scan a shelf, look for an escaping child, flick a book, replace a stack that had been pitched on the floor and quickly make my selection. It was a bit of an impulse buy because of this, but I was pleasantly surprised, when I was able to examine it in greater detail poolside, while all 'enfant' were happily distracted. Reduced from $29.95 to $12.99, this was quite a find. Entitled 'Linen Crafts' by Florence Le Maux, (a book I have never heard of), turned out to be filled with fantastic projects all in linen - of course - 40 to be exact. Here are some images to illustrate what I mean:
This tunic would be so versatile.
I could imagine these sachets filled with lavender also.
These flowers are actually curtain tiebacks, but I intend to make some wearable corsages from this pattern.
The book is full of beautiful styling.
I included this for the softie lovers - the bird is cute.
So now I have another million ideas for the 2009 production line. If it gets to June and you haven't heard of any linen items, please remind me that I have this book. I always seem to have more ideas and intentions than time available.
Even though we are back from our holiday, we are still being beachy here at our neighbourhood beach. With weather in the high 30's for the next week, I guess this will contine - yay! Here are some bayside shots to close today.
And I am very happy to say, even Mr Front-Door, who works incredibly hard for so many hours was able to be there - it was such a happy Australia Day for this aussie family.
