Kids Back at School

After working very hard for many years as another and a full time career person, I decided to take a break after my fourth child. He has now gone out to day care and I am looking for my new career. Before I even start this search there are plenty of things I want to do with my free time. Here are some ideas:
- have you decorated the house recently? Dont pay anyone to do it. It is easy anyone can do it. Choose the colors you want - if you want stencils and get to work. Do it room by room. If you are not sure of the color then you can buy small pots of colors to try out. Get your friends over and have a painting party, or even get your kids to help. There is no point going out for coffee every day. Do something with your life.
- If you dont fancy the painting then there are a multitude of other things to do. I love getting mucky so I decided to make some paper Mache bowls. It is very simple. All you need is colored crepe paper, flour and water. Choose a shape of a bowl or dish from your kitchen and cover it in cling film. Now the gooey messy bit starts, make a paste of flour and water, it needs to be a very thick consistency. Now start pasting bits of the colored crepe paper on top of the cling film which is on the bowl. Carry on doing this until you have many layers and you happy with the look. Leave it to dry overnight and then peel away the bowl and cling film and you have a lovely paper Mache bowl for storing things.
