Free Scrumbled Valentine Crochet Pattern

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn (1/2 oz. each of red, pink and white)
Size H crochet hook
Size: 8" tall
Note: Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Make 3 of these motifs ,1 red, 1 white, and 1 pink.
Join motifs together w a few sts on wrong side of work.
With red, make 2 large triangles as follows:
Row 1: Ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 1, 1 sc in ring (1 sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in sc (2 sc).
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each sc, fasten off (4 sc).
Sew 1 large triangle at each side of heart as shown.
With red, make 1 small triangle by repeating Rows 1 and 2 of large triangle, then fastening off (2 sc).
Sew small triangle to center of heart as shown (you may need to rotate it slightly to fit).
To form point at bottom of heart, join pink w sl st in 2nd dc to right of bottom center of heart, ch 4, work 1st 2/3 of one trc in each of next 4 dc (or, work each tr down to one loop remaining) , yo and draw through all 5 loops on hook to form one cluster st, fasten off.
Edging: Join white w sl st in any st, ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 3, sk 1 st, sc in next st, rep from * around, join w sl st in 1st sc, fasten off.
Your heart is now done! Embellish with buttons, bows, etc. if desired.
