Free Pool Ball Coaster Crochet Pattern

Materials:
Small amounts white and black worsted weight yarn
1/2 oz. contrasting color worsted weight yarn
Size H crochet hook

Notes: You can type "pool balls" into Google Images for more pool ball ideas. For example, crochet Rnds 2 and 3 in black and embroider an 8 in the center.

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Rnd 1: With white, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of 1st dc, fasten off (12 dc).

Rnd 2: Join contrasting color yarn in 1st st of Rnd 1, ch 3, dc in same dc, 2 dc in next dc and in each dc around, join as before (24 dc).

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same dc, 2 dc in next dc and in each dc around, join as before, fasten off (48 dc).

With black yarn, embroider number in center of Rnd 1.

I just found your blog and I have to say that I love your potholders/hot pads. I'm currently working on replacing a ton of retro/vintage ones that my grandmother made when I was little and yours are super cute!

I know this is a retro post, but your idea is awesome! My mom taught me to crochet coasters on old CD's, and these would be neat done in peaches and cream. My husband I own an American Poolplayers Assoc. league franchise and I'm always looking for fun stuff to raffle at the tournaments. I think the players would like these. Thanks!
