Free Leprechaun Hat Candy Dish Crochet Pattern

Materials:
Small amounts worsted weight yarn in green and black
Scrap of gold felt
Size H crochet hook
Size: 2" tall
Gauge: 2 rnds dc=1"
Rnd 1: With green, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 17 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 3 (18 dc).
Rnd 2: Working in back loops only, ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before, fasten off (18 dc).
Rnd 3: Join black w sl st in 1st dc of Rnd 2, working in both loops again, ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before, fasten off (18 dc).
Rnd 4: Join green w sl st in 1st dc of Rnd 3, ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before (18 dc).
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in same dc and in each dc around, join w sl st in 1st sc, fasten off (18 sc).
Brim:
Join green w sl st in 1st free loop between Rnds 1 and 2, ch 3, dc in same loop, 2 dc in next loop and in each loop around, join w sl st in top of ch 3, fasten off (36 dc).
Weave in ends.
Buckle:
Cut about a 3/4" square from a piece of gold felt. Fold square in half and cut a smaller square in center. Unfold. Glue buckle to Rnd 3 of hat. Let dry.
Fill hat with chocolate coins.
