Free Lacy Heart Crochet Pattern

Materials:
Small amounts worsted weight yarn in red and white
Size J crochet hook
Note: I worked two of these hearts. The larger red heart is worked with a size J crochet hook (it is 5 1/2" tall). The smaller pink heart is worked with a size H crochet hook (it is 4 3/4" tall). Both use the same pattern.
Row 1: With red, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, dc in ring (2 dc).
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in same dc, 2 dc in next dc (4 dc).
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in same dc, dc in each of next 2 dc, 2 dc in last dc, (6 dc).
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in same dc, dc in each of next 4 dc, 2 dc in last dc (8 dc).
Row 5: Ch 3, turn, dc in same dc, dc in each of next 6 dc, 2 dc in last dc (10 dc).
Row 6: Ch 3, turn, dc in each of next 4 dc (leave rem st in Row 6 unworked) (5 dc).
Row 7: Ch 3, turn, work 1st half of dc in each of next 4 dc, then yo and pull though all 5 loops on hook to form one big cluster st, fasten off (1 st).
Turn work, join red w sl st in 1st unworked st of Row 6, ch 3, dc in each of next 4 dc (5 dc).
Rep Row 7.
Edging: Join white w sl st anywhere alongside heart, ch 3, sl st in same sp, work [sl st, ch 3, st in same sp] pattern evenly around entire heart, join w sl st in 1st sl st, fasten off.
Weave in ends.
