Handcrafted - December 2008

Free Giant Chocolate Truffle Crochet Pattern

Materials:
1/2 oz. brown worsted weight yarn
Small amount pink worsted weight yarn
Fiberfill stuffing
Size H crochet hook
Baking cup

Notes: Do not join rnds unless otherwise indicated. Mark last st in each rnd w st marker.

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Top:
Rnd 1: With brown, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring (8 sc).

Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around (16 sc).

Rnd 3: Sc in 1st sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around (24 sc).

At this point, do not fasten off brown working yarn, but pull pink yarn through from bottom of piece through top of piece in center of Rnd 1, work surface sl sts in a spiral motion as shown, then fasten off pink yarn.

Rnd 4: (Working with brown yarn again) sc in each sc around (24 sc).

Rnds 5-9: Sc in each sc around (24 sc). After Rnd 9 is complete, join w sl st in 1st sc, fasten off.

Bottom:
With brown, rep Rnds 1-3 of top (24 sc). After Rnd 3 is complete, join w sl st in 1st sc, fasten off.

Stuff top with fiberfill.

Sew bottom piece to top, adding more stuffing if needed before completely closing.

Place truffle in baking cup.
