Free Cornball Crochet Pattern

Materials:
Small amounts worsted weight yarn in yellow, orange and white
Small amount fiberfill
2 black 6 mm half beads
Scrap of black six-strand embroidery floss
Small white bow (optional)
Size H crochet hook
Size: 2" tall w/o hair
Note: Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Rnd 1: With yellow, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 1, work 6 sc in ring, join w sl st in 1st sc (6 sc).
Rnd 2: Ch 1, work 2 sc in first sc and in each sc around, join as before (12 sc).
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around, join as before, fasten off (18 sc).
Rnd 4: Join orange w sl sl in 1st sc of Rnd 3, ch 1, sc in each sc around, join as before (18 sc).
Rnds 5-6: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join as before, fasten off after Rnd 6 (18 sc).
Rnd 7: Join white w sl st in 1st sc of Rnd 6, ch 1, sc in same sc and in each sc around, join as before (18 sc).
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in same sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, * sc in next sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, rep from * around, join as before (12 sc).
Stuff ball firmly with fiberfill.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc dec over 1st 2 sc and over each of next 2 sc around, join as before, fasten off leaving a 12" length of yarn for sewing (6 sc).
Add a bit more stuffing in ball, then weave 12" length of yarn through scs of Rnd 9, pull to close.
Hair
Latch hook 1-3 4" strands of yarn in each sc of Rnd 9. Trim ends of hair even and style as desired.
Glue eyes to cornball as shown. Embroider mouth w six-strand embroidery floss.
Glue bow to top of Rnd 9 as shown.
Let dry. Enjoy!
For "Peppermint Puff" version, just start Rnd 1 with red and alternate white and red every other round.
