Hiatus

February 2nd 2009 08:15
It's been a while since I last posted. First the Orble website was giving me trouble so I was frustrated for a while, then I got really busy and forgot to post. Well, the hiatus should be ending soon. Even though I have not been posting I have still been doing surveys and looking into new companies. I will soon start posting reviews of individual survey sites that I have experience with. I have also recently become very interested in Yuwie. I will write a full post on it soon as well, until then you should check it out, the intro video does a good job explaining what they are all about.

Paid surveys: Scams, or legitimate?

October 1st 2008 01:42
There are a lot of ads out there trying to convince people that they can quit their jobs and take internet surveys for a living. Is there any truth to this? No, the bottom line is that there just aren't enough legitimate online surveys conducted to make this possible. However it is possible to make a fair amount of extra money off of surveys. There are a number of sites that will pay you anywhere from $1-25 per survey. these surveys vary in length and complexity, and of course there are many more surveys in the $1-9 than in the $10 plus range. There are few keys to finding sites that are legitimate.First and foremost no legitimate survey site will ask you for money to join. Just think about it, what kind of company would ask people for money just so that they could later get paid to give the company useful information? Would you take a job that asked you for a deposit before you were hired? Most sites that ask you for money in order to take surveys are either outright lying, or will simply give you a list of survey sites that you could have found on your own for free. Another clue that a site is legitimate is that it will have a professional site with functioning features such as: FAQs, Terms & conditions, and Privacy Policies. Remember the companies that you want to work for are established market research businesses that want to present a good image and plenty of information to the public. If a site tells you little more about themselves than that you can make lots of money from them, chances are it is not a real market research company. Lastly do a web search for companies that you are unsure about. If a company is a scam searching its name will make this very clear. If a site is legitimate you will most likely find websites or blogs that speak highly of it. Also beware of sites/blogs that have nothing bad to say about survey sites, or speak of them in non-objective terms. These sites are often made by people who work for the sites and aim only to drive you to the site, not to inform you. Keep all of this in mind when searching for paid survey sites and you should be fine.
Having given the above disclaimer I would like to say that it is quite possible to make enough money off of online surveys to make it worth your while to take them. You will not make a living off of them, but if you sign up with a few sites and take all the surveys that they offer you (usually 1-3 per company per week day), you are likely to make around 5 to 20 dollars a day. Chances are you will never make a great deal off of one site, but the greater the number of sites that you sign up for, the greater number of surveys you will get to take. The number of surveys, and the amount that you get paid for taking them varies depending on your specific circumstances (age, gender, race, geographic location, interests, etc...) simply because the companies will be looking for different demographics depending on what they are conducting research for. For instance if they are conducting research for a surfboard manufacturer the opinion of someone living in Nebraska would not be terribly useful.
In the future I will be adding sections on how to qualify for more surveys, how to avoid getting kicked out of surveys that you qualify for, and on getting paid for referrals. I will also post reviews of specific survey sites as I have the time to write them. I highly recommend creating a new email address that you only use for surveys, this way emails from survey companies will not clutter up your personal mailbox.
For now I advise you to check out Surveyspot.com their site is a little buggy but they send a lot of surveys, most of which pay $3. Good luck, and always remain skeptical.

Greetings

September 30th 2008 05:18
Hello, welcome to my blog. In this blog I will write about internet money making schemes, you know, the kind you see on popup ads all the time, things like paid surveys, and "pay per click" sites. I decided to look into these types of offers more out of curiosity than anything else. I went in with no expectations and ended up making more money than I thought I would off of some sites. I decided to make this blog because when I was looking into joining these sites I had a hard time tracking down objective information on their reliability. I thought creating a blog with information on specific sites and their programs could greatly help other people who become curios about this type of site in the future. In time I hope to cover a number of different types of sites including surveys, pay per click/paid to read email, pay to complete offers, and affiliate programs. I will try to get the first real post up asap. If anyone has questions feel free to post them.
