Florence

If I could choose to live any cities in the world Florence would be one of them, which I visited briefly last summer.
Here's testimonial by Marcel Proust
"When I produced the words 'going to Florence'....what I saw was in no sense a town, but...something as delicious, as might be, for a human race whose whole existence had passed in a series of late winter afternoons, that inconceivable marvel, a morning in spring." I hope I understand right what he said: Florence is different, Florence rocks.
Yes it's magic in a different way, I guess starting from it's very name: coming from flora meaning flowers. Who wouldn't surrender to the idea of Renaissance, one of the fullest blossoms of the human mind and spirit in all of civilizations? And that spirit somehow lingers in the atmosphere of the city, coming off the numerous paintings and frescos and statues, resting in the narrow meandering lanes with faded yellow walls, breezing over the quiet and ancient river Arno, and shining through the bold and intricate designs of the jewelries on the old Pont Vecchio.
Florence doesn't have art and history; it IS art and history.
