Flashes of memories - MUGABE MUST GO!!! ZIMBABWEANS NEED THEIR HOME BACK

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness - Carl Jung To be at one with God is to be at peace ... peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul. - Ralph Waldo Trine

Flashes of memories - June 2008

Elections are open in Zimbabwe - PLEASE VOTE NOW!!!!

Today is D-Day in Zimbabwe - we all sit in our scattered locations around the world and hold our breath as this maniac takes another day to rant and rave his madness while the world stands by and continues to do nothing.

Another kid held at gunpoint while her home was randsacked, another woman loses her husband, watches as he is shot point blank infront of her, another woman has her hands chopped off because her husband is away and they are looking for him, another man set on fire in the city streets while cops look and laugh as he burns... how much more of this has to go on

A Sunday ramble about time and space and Archaeologists and Computer Boffins

I have this book where I write on the first blank page I turn to. It`s where I write in pen and actually WRITE, not TYPE. I haven`t written anything in there in ages, haven`t felt like writing anything in ages full stop. So today I found myself drawn to those blank pages, with my leaking 'Papermate Grip Roller 0.7mm' pen and still have the ink stained fingers to prove it - I felt like Shakespeare or something... except I don`t sprout amazing words of wisdom, poetically captured for all of time.

I write in a cheap students diary on the day dated 29 December 2008

What happened there????

So a few posts ago speculation began as to what could possibly be the reason for the shoe in my above banner pic.

Tracy began the musing when she asked if the shoe belonged to me or not (which it didn`t btw) and we both wondered how on earth someone can manage to lose a single shoe, especially on a pebbly beach

What do you miss most when you travel?

Having just spent the last two months flitting half way around the world I was quite teary eyed to be boarding the final plane in the wee hours of this morning and heading back from Japan. The beautiful scenery was compensation though - between the view from the outside cameras and the starry sky outside the window, complete with shooting stars as well as the most amazing sunrise this morning I was quite mesmerized.

However, as much as i wasn't ready to leave I have to admit I have missed one thing in particular. One thing that I miss whenever I travel to no matter where I travel and cannot take with me at any time I travel
