Flashes of memories - MUGABE MUST GO!!! ZIMBABWEANS NEED THEIR HOME BACK

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness - Carl Jung To be at one with God is to be at peace ... peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul. - Ralph Waldo Trine

Slang-ing your way around the world...

Ok so I love hearing slang words, little expressions people use, maybe some a proverb or two....adds that bit of uniqueness to a conversation doesn`t it? So here are some that I have collected over the years....

Orble Book Club?

I was sitting reading this afternoon and, although it is not a particularly intellectual book, it still raised some issues that I was interesting in having a discussion over......

kinda looked like a goldfish at this point....mouth opening and closing and big googly eyes looking out from the tank I was swimming in, because I thought I HAVE NO ONE TO DISCUSS BOOKS WITH

A question on your beliefs...

Your blood suddenly turns cold in your veins; it feels prickly against the inside of your skin. Your heart starts beating loudly in your ears and suddenly your hands turn to miniature lakes of sweat. You stomach churns and balls up into hard, heavy lumps and your breathing becomes short and suffocating…. you know what I’m talking about….that terrible, restricting, choking feeling of fear

How do you make decisions?

Sometimes things appear to be so beautiful from afar, yet once you touch them they can have stinging consequences. Making decisions is quite an exhausting thing isn`t it? You try to think about it from all angles and weigh up the pro`s and cons for it. Then you start looking for signs that point you in the right direction toward which path to make with regards to said decision. Everything in the Universe seems to be showing you the right way to go, short of painting it in the stars for you and still you find yourself wondering which is the right choice

What should I bring to dinner? The tablecloth!

Firstly thanks all for your participation in the story...it has taken on some interesting twists and turns has it not? An Orble Game...

Let`s play a little game shall we?? Did you ever play 'Fortunately..Unfortunately' when you were younger? If you didn`t then this is how it works - I will start a story and end it with UNFORTUNATELY....you then carry the story on and end it off with FORTUNATELY. The next person who carries on the story will then start theirs with FORTUNATELY and end it with UNFORTUNATELY...and so it goes on.

Before I continue a few rules s'il vous plait

The misunderstanding of humans.

Every morning it starts at about 6am. "No Connor.....NO Connor....NO CONOR!" and then five minutes later, "No Connor....NO Connor....NO CONNOR!". This cycle repeats itself all morning until it is time to leave the house and the mother across the road drags her two children into the car to drop them off with someone else, who in all likelihood will repeat the same ritual

Do you believe in ghosts?

What is that time that we have between being awake and being asleep and how much of it should we take notice of? (I am not posting a picture on this one because personally this topic terrifies me and you can be assured tonight...I sleep with the light ON!!!)

I had a talk with my cousin last night which totally freaked me out - to the point that I am once again afraid to close my eyes and go to sleep. It has been a long time since this has plagued me...sometimes we take for granted that we can just go to sleep[/I,sometimes it is easier to just stay awake - and you would be surprised how the human body copes when it is deprived!

The value of life - what do you sell your time for?

q1 - the world's tallest completely residential tower is also located on the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast is boasting the sale of a penthouse in their new Soul apartment block that went for $17 000 000....that is right, count the zero's there...seventeen.... million .....dollars!! That is probably more money than I will ever earn in my entire lifetime...and my kids lifetimes too! This four storey apartment located ontop of the 77 level building will become the ultimate bachelor pad complete with party zones, roof top pool and an entire level dedicated to his kids. That $17 million is just for the actual Penthouse - so add in a few more mill to kit the place out

WHat colour sheep are you?

The Pororoca is a freak wave that rushes down the Amazon River. It can get to over 4m high and last for over 35 minutes. It is so powerful that it sweeps up everything in its path from trees to snakes to piranha and the water contains the friendly little candiru fish, which can swim up your urethra where it will feast on your blood. There is no alternative but surgery to remove this guy! Surfers from across the globe make the trek to catch this potentially deadly wave, fully knowing its dangers

A Venetian NIghtmare...Pt 2

I thought I was in a dream. I was waiting for her to laugh and say she was just kidding. I looked around at the stunned faces of those in the room. Some girls were crying, some were hugging their friends. The men were comforting their girlfriends or just sitting in silence. Nobody moved for what seemed like ages.My body felt all a sudden dirty, like it was crawling with bugs and smothered in a thick, toxic slime. I followed a few others out the door and found my cabin, pulling my toiletry bag from by suitcase, a few clothes and a towel and literally sprinted toward the shower block. As I ran I saw people in the field across packing up their belongings and looking over at us, worry and pity etched across their brows

A Venetian Nightmare..Pt 1

We had just spent a wonderful day in Venice, taking an early water taxi out to the romantic city in search of a glimpse of Casanova himself. The streets are narrow and the buildings high so at times you can get easily lost and have to listen to the bells of the Doges Palace and follow the blue line of the sky above to get your bearings. As the sun was setting we took a gondola out on the water, which was choppy from the passing boats. Our Gondalier was a little shy and would not sing, but soon we passed over the main body of water and drifted down a small passage between the buildings where we were too caught up in the beauty of the mossy architecture to care. The bubbles of our champagne tickled our senses and relaxed our bodies as the sky above turned slowly purple. The moon began to rise above the scattered city, its silver light dancing on the ripples of the sea

Coincidentally smelling the smell of coincidence.

What exactly is a smell? (I love the smell of fresh tomatoes!) I know that it may seem like a bit of an odd question, but what is it really? Quite often I smell things that are not even there - for example every now and again I will get the distinct smell of oranges in my nose, with no orange in sight. So, you may say, this can be easily explained. Perhaps there is something else around that has an orangey smell and because it is out of the ordinary that this object would smell like an orange you simply do not associate the smell with it

Holiday Disaster in Paris...Pt 2

I stepped onto a deserted platform and walked up the stairs toward where a light was dimly buzzing from above. I could hear the voices of people talking and began praying silently that they would not be psycho killers waiting for their next victim. I nearly cried when I saw a smartly dressed business man standing at the ticket booth talking to a lady who sat behind a glass window. Both stopped talking and watched me as I headed over to the phone booth, clutching the paper with the phone number of my hotel in my hand. I picked up the receiver and looked for the coin slot where I could put my money in to make the call. I wish that someone had told me before now that there are no coin boxes - all phones operate on cards and after asking at the ticket office I was told nowhere was open to buy one now. They were not very friendly muttering to each other in french under their breath, but the businessman finally said he was getting a taxi and would send it back for me after he was done. The lady in the booth closed up the glass box and pulled the metal screen down over the station entrance, walking away and leaving me standing alone in the dark, on the road side as I waited for the taxi. A single street light attempted to glow above, not doing very well to light up the area and the shadows around seemed to be hiding every imaginable monster I could think of

Holiday Disasters in Paris...PT 1

Going to Paris was something I had dreamed about from when I was a teenager. I would sit in French class and listen to the verb conjugations repeatedly echo around the room and stare out of the window, imagining the trees outside to be those bowing their heads at the majesty of the Eiffel Tower or proudly leading the way along the Champs Eylsee to the Arc de Triomphe. I imagined the trendy cafes and fashionable men and women scurrying along the streets in their Lacroix attire and floating in heady clouds of Chanel and Dior. I made up my mind then and there that Paris would be the first stop in a long line of many dreamy travels

Writing Exercise: Thoughts on the ocean

We had a thing, him and I. Whenever we would argue we tried to take it down to the beach. The thing with the sea is that it is never still, always moving, constantly changing. The waves carry your words to the shore. Some of them lie washed up on the beach, left where they belong to dry out in the sun, some get pulled back toward you again, slapping you in the face. Some however, get washed far away and spend an eternity floating along the sea of thoughts, until they find another shore to wash up onto. Over time they take root, grow strong and appear once again

Chakra Clearing

Recently this CD came very highly recommended to me - 'Chakra Clearing' by Doreen Virtue. (Thanks Lilla ) and I have been trying to find it, however have not had much luck. Although I say trying loosely because I am not the world's greatest shopper, hate malls with a passion so try to stay away from them as much as possible
