Seemingly impossible to construct and transport - Ancient megaliths remain the subject of awe and speculation to modern society. Has ancient knowledge been hidden or lost over time?
The modern construction industry is capable of producing some wonderful architecture..... huge beautiful monumental buildings fabricated from a combination of materials.
The design of every modern building is however limited by plant/technological constraints – for example, a structural steelwork bridge has to be fabricated in small sections which are welded together in-situ – this enables the sections to be:
transported to site on vehicles which have maximum weight limit
Lifted into place by cranes – with a maximum weight limit
You would therefore assume that ancient structures would have been constructed from small manageable materials – in accordance with technological constraints of the time.
You would be wrong........Ancient civilisations seemed to achieve the impossible but, just maybe they had knowledge, understanding and technology that has been lost or hidden from the modern world.
Below are examples of 5 mysterious ancient megaliths (please note-this is not a definitive list as there are many, many more)- Please note the geographical diversity of these examples
The logistics of construction/transportation/e rection of these examples would be virtually impossible today – modern cranes can lift 1000 – 2000 ton weights cannot carry loads any distance.
