Is there anything more satisfying than eating something you've grown from your own garden?

It seems to have taken forever but we bought a small above ground garden, filled it with sugar cane mulch and dirt and planted some veges.

Our garden is currently growing cucumbers, lettuce, spring onions, tomatoes, strawberries, silver beet, chilis and capsicum.

It's so exciting to see the flowers develop and the fruit to follow.

Luke has gotten involved too and helped me harvest some silver beet for dinner which we steamed with chicken fillets and chips.

It was just that little bit more delicious.

I've also picked a few lettuce leaves for salads and they have been delicious as well.

In separate pots (not shown) I am growing mint, onions, sage, oregano, chives, rosemary, parsley and thyme.
