First Date Can Be Nerve-Racking

December 27th 2011 23:12
First dates can be nerve-racking. You want to make a good impression. You want the person that you are with to make a good impression on you. You want everything to go smoothly so that maybe you'll see the person again. Most of all you don't want to make a fool of yourself.

The best way to handle a first date is to be you, relax and have fun. If it is not a blind date then it is obvious the other person wants to be with you or they wouldn't have agreed to go out. So have a good time.

If you are not sure that you'll be comfortable with someone then do something simple like go to lunch. This way there are no expectations. More than likely there will be a set time for you to meet. And the time that you spend together will be limited, because of work schedule or what have you. The date would consist of nothing more than a meal and some pleasant conversation.

If you want to see someone for dinner or a night on the town then there is a little more involved. Make sure that both of you are on the same page as to what time you will meet and where. Who is going to drive? Who is going to pay? And what are you going to do? This way there are no surprises.

Once you are together keep it light. Talk and listen to one another. Compliment one another when necessary. Take an interest in each others likes. And laugh. What' the use of going out on a date if you can't laugh with the person you're with?

When the date ends, leave on good terms. Neither person should expect anything from the other. And the woman always controls this situation. Whatever she wants to do is what should be done. If she wants to shake hands, then that' fine. If she wants to hug, then that's fine. If she wants to case it is the same. But the ball is always in the woman's court.

And don't worry about whether you will see each other again. Just enjoy the moment for what it is. If it is meant to be you will see each other again.

First dates can be nerve-racking. The best way to handle them is to be you, relax and have fun.
