Finally! I hit a landmark
I HAVE FINALLY HIT 10,000 WORDS!!
Okay, so this is no great feat for most, and in all honesty I am about 8,000 words behind where I should be, but for me, this is HUUUUUUGE! I have never written so much of one story in my life. LIKE my life, I tend to lose interest in my stories fairly fast and get excited about a new idea and want to start writing that one.
I was super excited, when i saw the counter refresh itself (I'm working on CopyWrite at the moment and LOVE the goal counter thingy AND find it great to work in Full Screen mode) and the 10,000 made me almost fall off the bed!
So here lies my challenge. I need to get to 8,000 by end of tonight. Is that going to happen? Highly unlikely. But I will try my best to get as many words done as possible.
Another post and no talk about my story. I really should add something I guess? Hmm...well Im trying to get to know all 12 of the characters and the back stories as quickly and hopefully unboringly (so not a word I know, but let my tired fingers and mind rest!) so I can get further into the depths of the story. Im just starting to build the chemistry between two of my main characters, but finding it hard to make the guy seem interested but at the same time not?? Confusing you? Sorry. Imagine what its like in my head!!!
ON another note, I read the newsletter from Nano's Chris Baty this morning (I really do enjoy these little emails I get) and noticed that I have joined Nano at a good time. When there is an extra weekend in the month. I feel somewhat like I am cheating though. But hell, I'll take all the weekends I can get.
Oh yes, is anyone else not really feeling the love for their story? I keep writing and think back to what I just wrote (because I can't go back and edit, D'OH, and think, WOW that was a piece of crap sentence or sequence. WHAT was the point of that happening? Or being said? I fight the urge to go back so hard, but on occasion, I will admit to cheating here, that I write a sentence, think about it for a second and then delete the whole thing and start again. Sometimes, we just have to break the rules in order to get a better result!!!
Oh and I realised, that one of my characters not only changed his name within the span of a day, but also his eye colour...can we say contacts? haha...oh the joys of mindless writing.
Ok well I have bored you enough already. So I will stop now.

P.S: I TOTALLY CHEATED AGAIN!!! After I had finished up my 10,000 words last night, I figured that I deserved to treat myself to another chapter of New Moon. When i started reading I felt so guilty, but after like the third word, I was like 'screw it, this rocks'. FORGIVE ME. But otherwise I would have made myself insane lying there trying to sleep and nothing but my characters conversations running through my mind!!!
