I am just another young adult with something to say about the generations before us, the present and the future. Leaving my mark.

About Me
Nothing to say really. No matter how old i am, what i have lived through... writing is the true form of expression. So through my writing you should be able to gander at my life

Ironic Deaths.

July 11th 2011 10:09
We all know what Irony is... Well i hope. If not here is a rough idea....

When the action of a person creates the opposite intention...

Or

Henry Watson Fowler in "The Kings English"

“any definition of irony—though hundreds might be given, and very few of them would be accepted—must include this, that the surface meaning and the underlying meaning of what is said are not the same."

OR

"Irony is a form of utterance that postulates a double audience, consisting of one party that hearing shall hear & shall not understand, & another party that, when more is meant than meets the ear, is aware both of that more & of the outsiders' incomprehension."
(From "A Dictionary of Modern English Usage"

Lesson over, now for the fun part... People whose death would seem Ironic... And extremely comical

The Below are taken from

FELIX POWELL, (music composer)

Story: Powell who was a British Staff sergeant, wrote the music for "Pack up your troubles in your kit bag and smile, smile, smile". In 1915 the song won the WWI competition for the best morale-building song. The song won first prize

Final Irony: Powell committed suicide in 1942.

JOHANN UNDERWALD, a Swiss mathematician
Story: Underwald, one of the brightest stars in his field, was described by his peers as “the next Albert Einstein.”

Final Irony: Underwald died in October 1999. Cause of death: mathematical error – Underwald “made a 250-foot bungee jump with a 300-foot bungee cord, and died immediately on impact.”

ALBEN BARKLEY, former U.S. vice president

Story: On April 30, 1956, Barkley delivered a speech at a mock political convention at Washington and Lee University.

Final Irony: Moments after declaring to his audience, “I would rather sit at the feet of the Lord than dwell in the house of the mighty,” Barkley keeled over and died.

NIC MARCURA, a Yugoslavian farmer
Story: Sensing that his own end was near, Marcura set to work digging his own grave.

Final Irony: According to news reports, “in a sudden cloudburst, water began to fill up the hole. Marcura tried to bail it out with a bucket, slipped in and drowned.”

However my current favourite is recently in NY a group of protesters rode their motorcycles in protest against the law that was to be passed. It was/is a law that will enforce compulsory wearing of a helmet whilst riding. One such protester during the bike ride, lost control of his bike, fell off, hit his head and died............ I can admit i chuckled a little.

Under New Management

Ok kids,

So i am moving my blog to this domain name. Previous blogger is obviously not me, so anything you see posted thats not blogging about MJ, Beanies etc then its not me.

I will hopefully make you laugh, smile, cry, giggle and blush with each blog i post. I will also do my best to ensure i update this domain regularly so you have something amazing to read each day over your coffee, or can of V .... (red bull is for softies)

Sadly today of all days not much has happened. I guess its what people in the media biz say "slow news day".

I am NOT saying that every article about someone dying, being murdered or other tragic news it not worthy of my blog... But lets be honest. You do not want to awake and read sad news each day. We have had enough bad news within the past few months, across the world, to last us a life time. So lets ensure that this blogging space is sunshine and rainbows.

Thought before you drift off to sleep....

Ever notice the word Titillating has the world TIT in it?

Nothing frustrates me more, then the stereotype of a "Lad" or "Chav".
