FINALLY

After all the trauma this week. At least the team in red ended it on a high note.

Regarding Rooney's terrible attitude towards the club, I was really surprised that he signed on for another 5 years. I doubt he will be at the club next season though. Man U will probable be better off getting 50mil for him and then buy sneijder, and hopefully higuain.

The performance today at stoke was considerably better that that on wednesday's or last saturday. Yes the team still misplaced many simple passes to the opposition, or gave away the ball too many times (scholes), but at least we limited the opposition to one goal (funny how we're so happy that we 'only' let in a goal), and scored two.

Speaking about the goals, chicharito seems really to have been a real bargain by the gaffer. His first goal was...wow. It still baffles me on how he managed to get so much power on that backward header. The second goal was pure striker's predatory instincts. I guess he might be a worthy replacement, if rooney one day decides to leave.

So all's well for the reds now, till we draw again.

Runaway clubs

Certain clubs in the two leagues of the PL and Bundesliga seem to be running away with the titles, barely 2 months into the season.

In the Bundesliga, newly promoted Mainz have run away with 7 wins in 7 matches, with a famous away win against the german champions 2-1. THey have not dropped a single point and look good value for their lead. 3 points behind them are Dortmund who convincingly beat Bayern last sunday.

In the Premier League, Chelsea have only lost 1 of their 7 games, which was to Manchester City. They have scored an amazing 20 plus goals in that period. However it is worth noting that the only notable teams they have played are Man City away which they lost, and Arsenal at home which they just won.

So any surprises?

Manchester blues for the reds

Things in Manchester for the reds aren't going too well either. Manchester United, though still unbeaten in the season (despite playing everton, fulham away and liverpool), have drawn a crap load number of games, which is all of their away games, minus the Valencia one.

It seems that United's has an inability to defend and score at the same time. Either they play attacking football and get a 3-3 draw, 3-2 win, or just play out for a 0-0 draw. The defence, with the exception of Rafael, Vidic and Ferdinand has been absolutely crap, and even though Berbatov has delivered this season, Rooney now looks quite crappy.

I hope Ferguson's decision not to sign a central playmaker during the off season has not come back to haunt him. The midfield looks toothless and unable to link up defence with attack. With the exception of Scholes who's old but still plays the best, the rest seem incapable of creating opportunities and often play inaccurate balls. Nani has been an improvement but still is rather inconsistent in his crossing. Fletcher and Carrick are rather crappy this season, and Giggs and Valencia are injured.

Lets hope that things get better for the Reds. At least they are not losing games, unlike the previous team mentioned in the earlier post.

Problems in Bayern Munich

Just last sunday, Bayern Munich lost to Dortmund 2 to 0, which sees them 13 points away from the leaders Mainz, having only collected 8 points from 7 games, and are lying a lowly 12th in the table.

What has happened to Bayern since the Champions League final last season
