Election day arrives and passes

Election day.
My husband doesn't bother to vote, while I hear someone else say they are voting for the only party that is in the bill. That is the democratic party of the current president. I suppose if I surely knew the outcome to be unchangeable I would steer clear of politics in my country too.
People from a young age are not given the chance to dream of what could be, but instead they except the reality.
I am saddened by extreme control and constant contradictory actions such as the local school being closed, stopping the children of this nation to be educated, to house the voting booths.
I see a street full of police but yet they do nothing.
I hear voices in Cairo as the mass of people don't feel so threatened to speak out, but still wrongful doings continue to occur without the penalties being inflicted. And these people are usually the victims of the truth.
So that is election day in a 'democratic' country called Egypt.
The message is clear. Don't bother involving yourself in your own future.
