Effect of an Eclipse on our Health
August 18th 2008 14:32
A Solar Eclipse or Lunar Eclipse causes significant changes in the Earth's atmosphere so that the number of Viruses and Bacteria can (and often do) increase in the ambient air.
Besides, an eclipse causes changes in the Earth's magnetic field, which in turn can affect our body's internal mechanisms. As a result, our Endocrine system and other systems sometimes get thrown out-of-gear and malfunction for some days or even weeks, thereafter.
Our Metabolism and internal Homeostasis get affected, and the number of people who are sick is often seen to be more in the period before and after an Eclipse.
Ayurveda pays a lot of attention to this and advises that we do not eat food or drink anything, for about 5 hours from before the eclipse begins, till it ends.
It further says that we should bathe after the eclipse is over.
