This is a very easy to prepare pear cobbler recipe. I found fresh pears on sale at 78 cents a pound and my biscuits were on sale at 4 cans for 99 cents. This easy and delicious pear cobbler made with biscuits was very inexpensive, less than $2.00!
Pear Cobbler Made With Biscuits
4 or 5 pears (pealed and cut into bite-size pieces)
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons margarine
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup of water
1 can refrigerated biscuits
In a medium size sauce pan place all of the ingredients, except the biscuits. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat until the pears are tender and the liquid thickens slightly and resembles syrup. Remove from heat.
Using a slotted spoon, remove the pears from the saucepan and place them into an oven proof dish. Reserve the pear syrup. Place the biscuits on top of the cooked pears, in a single layer. Pour the pear syrup over the top of the biscuits. Sprinkle the biscuits with granulated sugar and a little cinnamon.
Place into a pre-heated 350 degree oven and bake until golden brown, about 10 to 15 minutes
