Dunkless contest
February 18th 2013 20:09
Thankfully, the All-Star game was entertaining enough to make up for a lack luster weekend. The dunk contest was once again a let down with nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary.
There is no need to have big names in the contest, but maybe until things pick up, it should be required that a star of a team or at least someone who plays more than a few minutes per game gets action in the dunk contest.
I was expecting things to pick up this year because of James White. If you watch college basketball, you remember who he was from the 2006 dunk contest. Just too bad it didn’t translate to All-Star weekend.
Out of the four major sports, the NBA definitely has the better All-Star game, but as far as the rest of the weekend goes, something needs to change. No more pitiful Saturday nights….PLEASE!
