Dumping grounds and Action Hero - it`s all in a days work, really.....?
I haven`t had a Sunday ramble in what feels like forever. So it`s Sunday and I feel the time is right for one!
The sky is a little hazy today, blue, but with a lace curtain of white hovering in the air. The wind is cool, trying to blow it away, every now and again a really big gust whipping up the leaves and sending the palm trees into a frenzy of waving, weaving fingers. I can hear the half-hearted chirps of a lone bird somewhere in the distance, but even he seems unable to muster the strength for anything more than a passing twit-twit and a shake of the feathers.
So I had to go to the local rubbish dump the other day - oh pardon me, it`s called the 'Resource Recovery Centre' (blah blah what a load of bollocks!). It`s a rubbish dump people, perhaps they do a bit of recycling here and there but at the end of the day IT~S JUST THE LOCAL DUMP!
Annnyyyyyyway.... so I dropped off my pile of cardboard boxes and as I was driving out I watched as some plastic bags danced along the tip ridge, the chunky metal claw of the bulldozer sending a whirlwind of dust and rubbish into the air. Some random song was playing in the car and it fitted perfectly with the movements that caught my eye.
So while I was replaying this little scene this morning in my mind, I couldn`t help but think of my head as such a rubbish dump, a dumping ground of unused memories, plastic bags choked with unshed tears, too anxious to fall... a once barren land cluttered now with the refuse of many years of emotional dumping.
A little bird whispered a few secrets in my ear yesterday, which have settled over it all, sort of become the spark that waits to light the pile and burn the rubbish. But it`s always so easy to have these realizations isn`t it? It`s the actual putting into practise and the action of it that puts a slight dampner in the match that you hold in your hand.
So another Sunday passes. The wind whips up a large plastic bag which dances gracefully in the air before settling back down amongst the other bits of debris and I wonder....
it`s so easy to be a realization, the hard part is actually being the Action hero!

I love the metaphorical musing ... very apt ... and you know, that meditation is s'posed to be the very cleasing device the mind uses (loike a big bulldozer and crane) to shift all that garbage into useful piles; into those for burning off, or buried.
((laughs)) it is nice to let things idle ...

How frustrating to be behind the curtains
Sounds like just what I need - it really has felt like a wasteland up there recently.... whew! And now I`m going to even more so a good clearing out will be great!
Take care catch up with you later. The adventures are just about to begin, the road looks a little tricky in some places, but I liked the ending
Hugs to you and the fam

When discussing feelings or rubbish, it is better to recycle than to throw away. We could simply bury our garbage but to no avail. Recycling, can be a goal in itself -- but it is better to make something new from rubbish. A new you! Recycling protects our psychological environment.
What a wonderful post!

I like your musings and metaphor. I'm thinking now so I'll pop back when my thoughts are cohesive enough for a response
Good to see you,
