Dumb and Dumber

Did you hear the one where a US Airways employee helped a friend smuggle a gun on the aircraft? That is so stupid and absurd. If you have a permit and the gun is registered, I believe it isn't difficult to legally bring your firearm on the plane.
An incident occurred at a local airport where their was a gun incident that got blown a bit out of proportion. Not to get into the matter, but an article in the paper stated that as long as the weapon is in a lock-box given by the airlines, you can bring a gun on a plane. You have to check with an airline agent to get the lock-box. You also may need to fill out a 'gun tag'. Whatever you do, someone said don't start the conversation with "I have a gun..."!
Always talk to the airline of your intentions. I DO mean the airlines, not TSA. I'm guessing the counter agent was probably a rookie or a dummy, because he should have known the legalities and the way to do it legally!
