Driverless vehicles - the new Transformers? (LINK)

Talks of a new technological boost in vehicles have emerged among automakers in an attempt or rather pursue, to deliver a mechanism that would reduce road accidents and congestion. And the only thing you have to do is nothing at all. The new driverless vehicle that is expected to be released in 2018 dramatizes revolutionary driving, with the exceptional feature of automated parking.
Apart from the computerised speech, and spectacular ability to transform, does this whole ground-breaking innovation sound like a substandard re-take of Transformers? It does to me!
However, if General Motors do decide to step it up a notch, can you imagine how awesome driving-but-not-driving would be? Vehicles conversing, vehicles shooting missiles, vehicles practically transforming into massive robots... And that’s just before you think about all the running costs. Can you imagine the rise in vehicle road rage? Very unsightly.
If you think that’s too much, the worst is yet to come. Autobots affiliating with Decepticons, and before you know it, it will be a world of humans VS vehicles.
But for the meantime, we’ll enjoy the making of the whole concept of doing nothing at all and letting everything run us over.
