Using the Maha dashas of Vedic Astrology to stay healthy

Transits of planets are usually taken into account, both in Western as well as the Eastern systems of astrology, to find out whether the forthcoming year will be good (and bring benefits) or bad (and bring harm or ill-luck) to a particular person.
Transits of the major planets such as Saturn and Jupiter are taken to be major indicators of changing luck in a person's life.

There are 12 signs of the Zodiac and as each planetary transit is seen in relation to these signs, one out of twelve possible results will be predicted for every person.
Therefore, the results predicted for all persons born in a particular Zodiac sign will be
the same
, which means the same result is predicted for one person out of every twelve!

Apart from transits of the planets, there is a another and more accurate way of
foretelling
whether the next few years in one's life will bring something good for a
person, or something bad and harmful and that is the Mahadasha system if Vedic astrology.

Mahadashas are calculated from the position of the natal Moon at the exact time of birth of the native and hence, are very specific for a person and can help in giving very
accurate predictions.
When used alongside transit positions of the planets, Mahadashas help a Vedic astrologer
to fine-tune his predictions to within a few days or weeks of any event in a person's life.

What is more important however, is that an unfavourable dasha can be foreseen and its effects mitigated, by the use of herbal baths and other means, as described in my weblog
Remedies of Vedic Astrology from INDIA

Herbal baths, called aushadhi snaan in Ayurveda, have been described in ancient treatises of Vedic times. I have been studying their effects in various chornic diseases and am satisfied that when used properly, they do have the potential to alter the course of an illness in a person.
