One of the most unusual topics i encountered while in London was that it is illegal to feed the pigeons. How strange. You can actually get fined 50 pound and arrested if caught feeding pigeons particularly in Trafalgar Square.
Apparently back in 2000 the mayor of London tried to reduce the pigeon numbers in Trafalgar Square by hiring Hawks to take them down, however there were two Hawks and thousands of pigeon, so as a result of this the Hawks were fired.
The tour guide also mentioned that a policy had been put in place to feed pigeons birth control pills. Strange but true, major cities like NY, London, Paris, Hollywood have birth control methods in place for pigeons
