Out of no where.... huge waves crashed onto the sea shore. GIGANTIC WAVES created by WINDS thousands of miles away.
Waves offshore were breaking at 25 to 30 feet.
Fifteen people were injured after rogue waves swept them away at U.S. surfing contest.
The Mavericks Surf Contest is held in a tiny harbor town 25 miles (40 kilometers) south of San Francisco.
The surfing contest offers $150,000 prize money, making it the most lucrative big-wave contest in the world. The competition included 24 world-class surfers.
Stay tuned for futher developments from the wind!
$5 million will help train workers in renewable energy jobs in Oregon and Washington
Cash will be put in pockets of these trained workers of renewable energy.
A new wind farm is to be built in Southeast Oregon . Some 150 new jobs will be created to install the turbines and yet another 50 or more to run them.
In Harney County, a Vancouver-based energy outfit has won county approval to place more than 40 turbines on the flanks of Steens Mountain.
The amount of electricity produced from the wind has increased five-fold in five years. The Bonneville Power Administration in 2005 carried just 500 megawatts of electricity from wind, it now carries 2,700 megawatts of it for distribution to utilities.

Wind Powered turbines could support as many as 500,000 jobs 20 years from now.
wind jobs
Wind turbine are being installed on the U.S. landscape at a rate of almost 10 per day.
Turbines are popping up in Texas, California, Iowa, Minnesota, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Illinois, and Oklahoma. Not to mention China.
Currently, there are more than 100 turbine-component manufacturers operating in the U.S. Only two are U.S. owned. Foreign companies dominate the industry at this time. Here is our opportunity for employing tens of thousands of Americans in manufacturing wind tubines.
We have plenty of people with the needed skills-to make all the pieces of a wind turbine. The factories and facilities are already here.
The wind will take our nation places. On top is one of them

On March 26, 2009, the Ecotricity Greenbird set a new world land speed record for wind powered vehicles of 126.2 mph. The team hopes to both better that new record, and continue to work toward breaking the ice record in Winter 2009/10.
The project is a partnership between Ecotricity (UK’s first & largest independent green electricity company), and engineer Richard Jenkins (founder of the Windjet Project). The team is all British, independent, visionary, passionate and utterly committed to envisioning a zero carbon transportation future. (More about the team

Kite in the sky
Wind makes waves. Surfers ride them waves. They try to get inside them. Being inside is being in the tube. Doesn't get much better for a Surfer.
Power. Lots & lots of power. The wind will generate enough electricity for 235,000 homes. This power will come from huge wind turbines erected in North-central Oregon.
