Im back in Nebraska again. Got here yesterday morning early. They said my load was ready. Then they called me on the cb and said to go get breakfast, it would take awhile. Then they called again and said I should take a nap. I went into their office yesterday afternoon and they said just another couple of hours. Then they called and said I should go get dinner someplace. When I got back from dinner, they told me it wouldnt be ready til morning, but they didnt want me sleepping in their parking lot. So I unhooked my tractor and parked on the street, leaving the trailer behind so they could load the dam thing when they were ready. After breakfast this morning, I asked them where the hell the load was. My boss called and asked them where the hell it was, too. Bout time he does something to help! They said go ahead and hook up to the trailer and back it into a door. That was three hours ago and Im back to waiting on them.
This is a meat packing plant. I guess there waiting for the cows to get old enough to slaughter or something. I was supposed to have this load in Modesto, California on Monday morning. It aint gonna happen now.
I love my job. I love my job. I love my job.......
A buddy of mine is getting divorced from a real dragon lady. She keeps putting him through the meatgrinder. I had a chance to catch up on my Orble reading the other day and sent him some links that I hoped he could use. He thanked me so much, I figured it might be a good idea to share them around, just in case. So here they are. Seeing what happens in a divorce, Im really glad to be happily married!

Im in Mira Loma, California and bored out of my skull. I have to sit here at this little truck stop until I can drive to the delivery place. They used to let us check in early, but not anymore. There's noplace close where I can park, either. No Parking signs are all over the place where trucks used to be able to wait. This aint exactly a VW bug, so it takes a lot of room to park. But maybe its close enough to time where I can get going. I hate to run my axles off to get someplace and then have to wait... and wait... and wait...

Finished my time off. The wife about wore me out with visiting people and doing stuff. I barely got to watch my sports. But Im back on the road now and can rest up while I run my tail off. She's starting a new business and wants me to help her. So Ill be handing out business cards everywhere I go and hope it makes us millions someday. Helluva a retirement plan, I know. But itd be nice to wake up in the same town every day and not have to worry about money. We'll see what happens. If it starts looking good, Ill figure out how to put a link in and share the secret.
My trailers loaded gotta go.

Since my last post I have been east, west, east and now Im going west again. Ill be home sometime tonite. One more load to drop...
All these banks caving in makes me wonder. I hear a lot of opinions on the radio about how it started and lots of opinions on where it will end, but so far I havent heard anyone explain how to keep it from happening again. My parents were kids in the Depression and used to talk about banks failing. I hope it dont happen again. But if it does, theres nothing we can do to stop it, I dont suppose

Im waiting in line for fuel in Cedar City, Utah. Last nite I ate dinner and slept in Jean, Nevada. They havent told me where Im going, like its some big secret, as usual. Ill keep going til they tell me where Im swapping out. Then one more trip west an Im homeward bound. It feels like a long time since I slept in a bed that wasnt vibrating from the reefer.
The wifell probably have a honey-do list for me, but thats O.K. Im just glad to be going home.

Since the last post, I have been to South Dakota. Ran my butt off, and got here last nite. Im waiting to unload so I can go to the next stop. Gonna be another long day. But next week I get to go home for three whole days.
At least the ding, ding, ding is gone. And almost all the gages work.

They finally got my truck mostly fixed. At least the ding, ding, ding is gone and most of the gages work. Doesnt feel like the same truck. Im in Nebraska now, shut down for the night and too tired to fart. After being bored to death for several days, they got it done and Ive been running my tail off ever sence.
Maybe Ill feel more like writing tomorrow... maybe not. Depends on how much sleep I get tonite.
Im back in LA again, waiting for them to finish my truck. Had to turn the rental in this morning. Im sitting around the shop where the repair is being done and theyre all talking about a bad truck wreck someplace in Northern California. Two trucks and a car went off a cliff on I-80 last nite.It doesnt sound like there were any survivors. The found two more bodies in one of the trucks today. No idea who they were. No idea what company they pulled for either. I talked to a friend of mine who was stuck in traffic while they were hauling the first truck up. He said you couldnt tell much about it. The tractor was mangled so bad that only a twisted frame was left.
Every time I hear about a bad wreck, it makes me more careful. Every time the wife hears about one, she goes ballistick and wants me to get into another line of work. There isnt one I like that pays this good, so I always stay with it

I got a loaner truck and made it to New Mexico. Got here late, swapped out and slept awhile. Now Im up and heading back to California. Maybe my truck will be ready when I get back to L.A. on Monday. I miss my own truck, but this one doesn't ding all the time and it runs. So thats an improvement, I guess. They said mine was almost ready. Maybe next week I can actually make some money..... for a change.
