Don 2 (Hindi) Has Strong 45 Crore Nett Plus Weekend
Don 2 has had a very good first weekend of around 45 crore nett plus for its Hindi version. The approx collections were 14 crore nett on Friday, 14 crore nett on Saturday and 17-17.25 crore nett on Sunday. The Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions have added around 1.50 crore nett over the weekend.
The business has been best in places like Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Kolkata and Bangalore while CP Berar, CI and Bihar have recorded figures that are well below the mark for a big event film. Sunday saw a big jump in single screens in UP and Gujarat but it is probably due to Christmas day holiday as long term single screens may not sustain.
Don 2 is a winner but the weekdays will determine if it can get over the 100 crore nett mark, for that to happen the week will have to finish around the 70 crore nett mark, a first week finish more closer to 65 crore nett will probably mean a 90-92 crore nett final total.
Don 2 Has Big Jump On Sunday
Don 2 has had a big jump on Sunday as per the early collections coming. The film looks to have crossed the 17 crore nett mark on Sunday for its Hindi version and even around 18 crore nett collections may be possible.
A circuit like Delhi/UP which collected around 2.85 crore nett on Sunday seems to be heading for collections in the 3.50-3.75 crore nett range on Sunday.The collections have been propelled higher by single screen business on Sunday in the North and Gujarat.
Single screens which were 50% on Saturday were going house full on Sunday. Multiplexes showed less growth on Sunday as they were already high and could not really go much higher
Sunday is normally very good but here it may have benefited more as it was Christmas day, one of the biggest holidays of the year or it could be that the film is on a big run. Monday is likely to decide if it was the Christmas day factor or not
Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl dropped around 70% in week two but overall has managed decent collections in its first two weeks. AVERAGE.
The Dirty Picture did well again in its third week and has comfortably crossed the 70 crore nett mark in three weeks. SUPER HIT

Don 2 has had the fourth biggest opening day of all time. The top ten opening days of all time are as follows.
1. Bodyguard - 20.66 crore
2. Ra.One (Hindi)- 14.76 crore
3. Dabangg - 14.45 crore
4. Don 2 (Hindi) - 13.85 crore approx
5. Ready - 13.33 crore
6. Three Idiots - 12.98 crore
7. Tees Maar Khan - 12.82 crore

Ladies V Ricky Bahl Decent First Week
New releases Jo Hum Chahein and Pappu Can't Dance Saala opened to a poor response of 10% and will be dependent on word of mouth, even with good of mouth its an uphill task as both films have a limited release this week and Don 2 is releasing next week.
Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl has put up decent first week numbers despite the trade being downbeat on the film for some reason. The film will make very good money for its makers and the theatrical business will also be Average or Above Average depending on what happens in week two.
The Dirty Picture had a strong second week and is still the dominating film in single screens despite in its third week. SUPER HIT
Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol has seen mixed business since it released on Thursday. The film has done well in its English version in metros but elsewhere business is below average
MI4 Has Record Hollywood Opening In India
Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol has recorded the biggest Hollywood opening in India as per early estimates. The film has collected around 15 crore nett in its English and Hindi version and a further 3 crore nett in Tamil and Telugu giving it 18 crore nett for the Fri-Sunday period.
The film also collected around 1 crore nett on its paid previews making it 19 crore nett over its extended weekend. 2012 released in 2009 held the opening record of around 18 crore nett over the Fri-Sunday period.
2012 had scored hugely through its dubbed versions while Mission Impossible has done very well in its English version. The collections are extraordinary at high end multiplexes.
As the dubbed versions have not had a strong performance the film will remain below the lifetime business of 2012 which is the biggest Hollywood grosser in India

Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl was below thw mark overseas with around $700,000 (INR 3.75 crore) over its first weekend. The major market numbers for the weekend are as follows.
United Kingdom - £75,000
North America - $225,000
UAE - $225,000
Australia - $46,000
The Dirty Picture has done decent business overseas grossing around $1.35 million (INR 7 crore)in ten days. The major markets till date are as follows.
United Kingdom - £94,000
North America - $460,000
UAE - $475,000
Australia - $107,000
Desi Boyz has collected around $2.8 million (INR 14.75 crore) in seventeen days. The major markets till date are as follows.
United Kingdom - £545,000
North America - $1,065,000
UAE - $580,000
Australia - $267,000
Lastly, a special mention to one of th greatest ever movie in the world ever made:
Three Idiots Grosses $1.15 Million In China
Three Idiots grossed $1.15 million in its first four days of release in China. The figure is a huge number but the release was also huge with over 2,800 shows per day over the first four days and 800 prints in play.
It is the first Hindi film to get such a big release in China so there is nothing to compare with. Over the four days there was 11,224 shows with 240,274 admissions.
My Name Is Khan was released in China in November 2010 but on a much smaller scale and did not do well enough to get a wider release. It will be the trending that will tell if Three Idiots has done well and was worth such a big release.
The $1.15 million collected in China takes the Three Idiots total overseas gross on par with My Name Is Khan which at around $22 million which is the highest grossing film overseas and Three Idiots will go ahead with the additional income to crom from China. But My Name Is Khan is due a Hong Kong release early next year which could add to its numbers as well.
