Dog Blog - WORDS FROM THE HOUND

ALIVE ALIVE OH

September 7th 2011 11:21
I have to say that life is beautiful, it’s precious and wonderful.

There are many troubles, sorrows and stressful elements, but somehow above it all, try to look around. Marvel at the lovely things that nature puts in your path. It might just be a tiny flower sticking up out of a pile of weeds, or a patch of blue sky, or a funny-shaped cloud.

These small things do provide solace amidst the hurly-burly of our daily lives. We are alive! Don’t take this for granted.

Quote for the day:

Be grateful for what you have now. As you begin to think about all the things in your life you are grateful for, you will be amazed at the never ending thoughts that come back to you of more things to be grateful for. You have to make a start, and then the law of attraction will receive those grateful thoughts and give you more just like them.

GHOST CAT

August 22nd 2011 02:19
As you know I’m pretty much a deceased hound, a hound that is no more: a hound that has joined the choir invisible (see previous posts if curious about the circumstances of my death).

This has caused my owner some grief. As a token of hope I therefore offer up the story of the 'ghost cat'.

Lucy lived in the country and had three cats. Every night she would scoop the cats up and close them in the ‘boot’ room, with access to the garden, so that they didn’t keep everyone awake with their nocturnal scamperings.

Late one night, when her husband was away, Lucy was in bed and felt the pressure of a cat jump up onto the bed. The lights were off, and she could feel the cat snuggle down and the vibration of its purring against her legs. At first she thought it was one of her cats, but then remembered that all her cats were locked out of the house and realised that the ‘cat’ was a ghost.

Terrified, she pulled the covers up over her head and lay paralysed with fear for hours. Eventually, she fell asleep and when she awoke the ghost cat had gone.

This event happened several times and always when her husband was away.

The ghost cat was bringing her comfort. See?

Wherever you are, however this finds you, please accept some love from the hound.

Would you like the shirt off my back?
My children’s shirts?

(Silence)

Do you know what it costs to raise a family these days?

(Silence)

What are we supposed to live on? How am I supposed to pay my bills?

TAX OFFICE
I’m sorry we can’t help you with that Madam. (PAUSE)
Is there anything else we can help you with today, Madam?

ME
Technically speaking you haven’t actually helped me have you?

IT'S A MAD WORLD

August 1st 2011 01:32
The orang-utans in our city zoo are shivering with the cold. A young man of 24 is set to be a paraplegic after a hit and run. Part of my neighbour’s roof was blown off in last night's storm and landed in their pond, killing their precious Koi. The cat across the road, is sitting in the window, staring at me, as still as a vase.

It’s a Mad World

DEATH AND CLICHES

July 27th 2011 06:38
Just when you think you’ve got it bad, you have a chat with someone and realise your situation could be a whole lot worse. I have a friend, Heather, who lost her curly-haired daughter, Susy, to cancer. My neighbours across the way have all sorts of health problems now: Because their son, Steve, died of a drug overdose.

There are people all over the world grieving the loss of loved ones – and as earthly calamities go, surely the loss of a family member (or beloved) has to head the list of the worst things that can happen to a human? It is the mental anguish that is the killer, not physical pain. So I guess what I’m saying is, that my troubles are negligible by comparison; not that you can or should compare pain. It’s not a competition is it

NORWAY

July 26th 2011 01:37
It’s a dreary rainy day here but I have woken up thankful that all of my family members are still alive. Unlike the poor relatives, parents and friends of those that were killed in Norway.

As a hound, you know, I cannot understand what gives one human (irrespective of their beliefs) the right to take someone else’s life? There is no dogma, no religion, no ideology that can be used as a rationale for such violence
