This year flew by. I say this every year but this year flew faster than most. We still have sometime though to finish out this year in a stellar fashion.
Did you make resolutions last New Year's eve? Or do you not make them because you are afraid you can't live up to them? The past two years I made my resolutions a reality, and it felt so good come the end of the year. This year I'm not doing as well but I can still make it. Just need to keep my focus.
Whatever it is you want - take one small step each day or each week, and make it a reality. You are more capable than you realize and greater than you can imagine.

It is possible to stay positive even when all around you are your polar opposites. Negativity spreads like cancer, while positivity can seem to many like only a pipe dream. You can not make others see the light, but you can turn on the light within yourself for others to see.
When your light is on you are able to disconnect yourself more from other peoples harsh statements. A lot of times we are just a sounding board for someone who is angry and what they are saying really has nothing to do with us. Yet these kind of experiences can whittle away at self esteem causing yet another person to go full circuit on their energy grid. Don’t let people suck your positive energy away. Learn to distance yourself enough to try and understand what is going on. Once you can understand a person’s behavior the faster you are able to move past it.
Now positive affirmations are sometimes wonderful motivators. Being my # 1 fan always worked for me whenever I was auditioning. However, if someone has low self-esteem to begin with, affirmations could make that person feel worse. Why? Because they will simply see the affirmations as being untrue for them. If you have low self-esteem and most who do I think realize it, you need to find one thing you are especially good at and run with it. Have fun with it, and then you can create your own affirmations.
It is also good to have short term and long term goals. Goals give us purpose and when we have purpose we feel worthwhile. When you are setting your goals dare to be a dreamer and visionary. When people start in with “you can’t do that?”. Ask them, “why?”. Many times when you tell others of your plans and they respond negatively, it is because they once too had plans, but didn’t have the gumption you are showing in following through. Remember they had their chance and you stay focused. Who knows maybe your telling them your plans will help them rediscover theirs. Wouldn’t that make you feel good?
Many times we do not give ourselves enough credit. Every once in awhile take a personal inventory of all the things you do that helps others. Even if it seems very trivial write it down. We never know what act we perform may cause a wonder to occur. A teacher giving a word of encouragement could produce the next Tesla. A kind pastor the next Martin Luthur King. Our potential to affect others lives is endless. When we see the cause and effect of our lives we feel more in control. When we see how we affect things we can’t help but feel good about ourselves and our situation. It’s our mindset and the energy we create around ourselves that fixes that setting. Stay positive folks!
