I'm spending the next couple of weeks trying to generate some publicity for the Orble network and the great writers we have here.

As a journalism grad myself QC, Id suggest building up your portfolio as much as possible and offer yourself for internships.

Agree with TonyK.

I also have a degree in Journalism, and I have just recently landed my dream job.

My advice to you, Questionable Contacts, is to make a list of all the companies you want to work for, build up your portfolio (as TonyK quite rightly pointed out), and forward your best stories along with an introductory proposal to each of your target companies.

Include in your proposal something that you can offer their company, that will make you stand out from the rest. For example, when I first contacted the Gold Coast Titans, I sent them a package including an introductory letter, three of my best stories, and a powerpoint presentation on how I can make a difference to their organisation.

Now is the perfect time to organise all this, and make sure you send these packages staright after Christmas.

Sisi -- that's a great idea. I'm going to call lots of media outlets when I get the chance. I'm still putting the final touches on the press release with the help of some Orble bloggers who are journalists/PR people -- thanks guys!

I got interviewed by a fairly major tech magazine yesterday so we are already having some success. Hopefully it will result in a feature of some sort.
