Dioxazine Violet

Dioxazine
Violet

There are many sources of purple pigment for painting and dyes.

dioxazine violet
one of my favorite watercolor paints

If you're looking for a good solid color that mixes and dilutes well try this pigment if you're sick of mixing reds and blues and use a lot of purple.

Yes I do use it myself!

Seriously its a great color you can easily add a little red or blue to or water down for a wash and the cheaper Cotman version is just as good as the Artists Quality which can't be said for all pigments.

Try it for yourself!
