If you are an adventurous eater there may be a delicious monster in your future........

...When the fruit of the plant is ready to eat, it is said to smell heavenly and to have a flavor reminiscent of fruit salad. A mixture of pineapple and banana. Some other names for the plant are Mexican Breadfruit and Locusts and Wild Honey...

Pounding Coffee up your Butt

Some Sunday “doctor” is advising his listeners to get a coffee enema.

While I am almost certain that someone somewhere derives sadomasochistic pleasure out of this procedure–very likely the one administering the enema. And given that the placebo effect exists, there may even be some desperate soul who has been coughing up vile things for years who claims to get relief by pounding coffee up his butt. I think I will pass. Tell you what, when one of these television doctors, the real ones who had a thriving medical practice sometime in the past. When a real doctor cites peer reviewed studies in a mainstream, respectable medical journal in a month that does not begin with the letter “A.” Until a real doctor cites real evidence that supports the claims of the efficacy of this procedure, the south end of this franchise is closed to incoming business.

I have often thought that if we could hook up up thousands or millions of PCs across the country or around the world we might have an interesting monitoring network that could track or detect phenomena of which we are now not sufficiently aware.

We could track the effects of solar flares across the face of the earth or monitor changes in electromagnetic fields due to earthquakes or the passage of chemical contaminants across international borders. Imagine not having to trust governments to detect and report the spread of pollutants or drugs, but having that power in the hands of average citizens. Who knows, it might be a way to keep government honest for a few days
